Resting Recap!

Categories: Marathon Recovery, Training

Week 1 Apres Boston is complete: 34.6 miles

Here’s how the week shook out:
Monday: Ran well walked too but we won’t talk about that, 26.2 miles.

Tuesday: SRD. Just the front of my thighs are tender, really not bad at all.

Wednesday: Yoga, corework. Soreness getting better not worse. Hooray!

Thursday: Yoga. Feeling great! Trying to keep the momentum going and maintain better (meaning less food) eating habits

Friday: Yoga, corework. Sleeping like a freaking log!

Saturday: Yep more yoga. Slept 9:30p to 7:30a. Unprecedented. Ahhh!

Sunday: 8 miles, 8:48 pace among gentle, fragrant breezes and birdsong. There was a wall of ominous black clouds threatening from the West but I finished before they became an issue. Ice skating with the kiddos.

Notes: Big sigh of relief having Boston pressure behind me. Wow what a fun weekend! Recovery has gone very nicely I must say. I think the body definitely acclimates and learns to rebound faster and faster. Besides relaxing a ton, I spent the week shopping for new races but haven’t committed to any…yet. Time to regroup, retool, refresh and come out swinging once again!

I’ll leave you with a few final pics from Beantown:
The Agony
The Ecstasy
Relief at last. The banana and bling make the outfit don’t you think?
Congrats to our Big Sur and London Marathoners!
