On Christmas Eve, I ran not one, but two virtual races:
It was good to be back home in the tundra after sweating my coconuts off in Key West…
…ok sort of…not really.
I wore some of my favorite things, doing my best to channel the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Make that a strong Sugar Plum Fairy.
I love this base layer top from Athleta almost as much as life itself.
An equally purple jacket, and a certain little gumdrop, completed my ensemble.
I got out to strong wind and temps in the mid-20′s.
My ornery ham made its presence known briefly between miles 1 and 2 and,
as expected, the going was slow. Sigh.
After just a tad more than 5k, Garmin said:
But my racing day was not over.
There was a 10k to complete as well so I soldiered on until Garmin said:
I carried on, picking it up a smidge until 10 miles were complete, average pace 9:15.
Overall a fun and festive outing.
How have you fit in your workouts over the holidays?

I’ve been MIA for 10 days, in the throes of vacations and
hurricanes and holidays oh my!
In order to not bore you silly, I’m thinking vacation details and virtual races will be covered in another post. Let’s get to the pressing stuff:
Secret Santa!
Thanks to the blogger gift exchange, so graciously hostessed by the amazing and talented
Jill,
I returned from Key West to find this:
A whole mess of tantalizing packages, festively wrapped.
Santa obviously knows what my favorite color is!
The goodies included cute socks and knit gloves, festive chocolate mint GU, cleansing towelettes, (you know, because sweaty pits are nobody’s friend), Bonnie Bell lip smacker and a Champion tee! Boomshakalaka!
Since adults do not exchange here, it was really fun to have something to open.
The Problem: Santa has thus far remained secret so I don’t know who to thank!
Come forward please!
Winners!
