I'm a stay-at-home-mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I QUALIFIED FOR BOSTON at my second marathon and slipped into the vortex. Join me as I fulfill my dream of running the five marathon majors.

I love mail!
I got a package all the way from Italy the other day! The Black Knight sent goodies from The Elton John and Chicago concerts he saw there. Thank you so much Stefano!
What’s the best concert you ever saw? Journey maybe? No, Springsteen!

What’s better than racing?
Racing in a new skirt! The fruit of my labor (aka the deliveries from my economic stimulation project you may have read about on twitter) have arrived. I’m planning to wear my new skirt (well one of them) at a local 5k tomorrow. It’ll be interesting to see what, if any, 5k abilities I have after struggling through all of this heat.
Are you racing this weekend? Are you a sucker for a good sale?
In my case, yes and yes.

Do you live in one of these areas?
The Fresh Air Fund provides summer vacations for underprivileged kids. Time is running out–Currently 200 children still need a host family and there’s only one week left. If you or someone you know is able to host please click here for more information.

Turning the corner
Our early sunlight is slipping away, and we got a bit of a break in the heat this week. As much as I hate to admit it, I’m getting into back-to-school mode. The kids’ doctor/dentist appointments are done (hallelujah) and I’m checking the last of the school supplies off the list. Although I always loved school and fall is such a beautiful season (heaven knows the running is worlds better!), this time of year always makes me a little sad. Like recess is over. It makes me more aware of the passage of time and how quickly it flies by…and probably the long winter ahead.
Do you enjoy late summer/early fall?

Have a great weekend!
Go Racers!

Zensah Tank Review and Giveaway

Categories: Giveaway, Zensah Racerback Tank, Zensah Review

You may know I’m a huge Zensah fan. I’m drawn to their vibrant colors like a moth to flame, but all of their products are more than just nice to look at–they’re built for performance.

Recently I tried out a Zensah Racerback tank. Since it’s been sweltering here in the Midwest, this tank has seen more than its share of heat and humidity.

What’s different: This is not a compression tank and there’s no built-in bra so wear it with your own–treat yourself and get a Zensah bra–trust me they’re fabulous.

Racerback Tank Sizing:
Bust/Chest Size
XS/S: 28″-32″
M/L: 32″-38″

I normally wear a small but given the sizing, went with a M/L because I prefer my tanks to be on the loose side.

I wore the tank:
For a 13- and an 18-mile long run
To the gym
For plyometric Intervals
Speedwork

Zensah’s high-wicking fabric performed beautifully. There are no seams, tags or other nonsense to chafe or irritate you.
The fabric is unique. Very light and super soft; not slick or clingy. It doesn’t bunch up or billow in the wind either.
It felt like next to nothing when I put it on, which is perfect in our insane heat.

The deep racerback style is great for unencumbered movement on the track and in the gym alike. Pay no attention to the little critter peeing in the background.

And I have to admit the double-Z logo makes me feel all SuperWoman, er make that ZuperWoman.

The tank sells for $43.99 and comes in three vibrant colors plus stealth black. I  machine wash and air dry mine. It remains colorfast, pill-free and fantastic.
I love this tank and highly recommend you get one or more. It’s that good!
