I love me some cute active wear, especially when it doesn’t break the bank. When ZeeBee Threads contacted me, I was somewhat wary of their reasonable prices. No worries though: I was impressed as soon as I opened the package. Quality clothing doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Since it seems like I spend half my life in tech workout clothes, I switched gears and tested two pieces made from natural fibers.

Bamboo Performance Racerback Tank: I’ve been intrigued by bamboo fabric for some time. It’s sustainable, natural, and super soft. This tank is by ALO. It is the bomb on its own or as a layering piece. It fits perfectly and I adore the fun color and stylish racerback.
French Terry Active Pant: Many moons ago, I think I was still a teen, I had a pair of french terry pants. Oh how I loved them. I’d wear them at the lake in the evening when it cooled down. I was hoping to rekindle those memories of beach campfires when I chose these and they did not disappoint. Especially since it’s been such a cool spring. They’re uber soft, comfy cotton with a wide waistband and gently flared at the ankle.
Both the tank and pants fit true to size and washed beautifully with no shrinkage, fading or stretching out of shape.
Win It! One lucky reader will get their choice of Bamboo Performance Tank or French Terry Pants. This giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada.

Note: I received these pieces free of charge in exchange for review, however as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Before we get down to business here, go check out my guest post about Chi Running over at MizFitOnline! Thanks so much Carla for inviting me!
No NYCM for me. I try to always be a good sport about stuff. That’s why I was caught off guard when sad sack feelings bubbled up after being rebuffed in the NYCM lottery for a third and final time. I knew my chances were slim to none, especially with last year’s super-storm Sandy, but for the first time in 7 years, I will not spend the summer marathon training. I know, cue the violins. Of course I could do a different marathon or run NYCM for charity. Part of me is relieved there will be no marathon for me this year. Remember it’s my year of the 5k? Yeah so don’t cry for me Argentina. Actually I’m one of the ‘lucky’ ones in that I’m guaranteed in for 2014. Everything works out for a reason. I’ll stop whining now.
School’s Out! It’s the first FULL day of summer break here. It was cold and pouring so hard, I didn’t get a pic of the kids bursting from the bus for one last time. It IS good running weather though, not so great for biking, mucho no bueno for the pool.
Thing 1 is shipping out tomorrow for a week in SC with her grandparents. She comes back for one day then flies out to CO with her Girl Scout Troop. Sniff. I’ll do my best to not be a sniveling embarrassment at the airport but I can’t make any promises. It’ll be like having an only child for a couple of weeks. Thing 2 and I are planning our own fun.
Speaking of fun: World Sport Chicago’s Family Sports Festival is coming up on June 15.
