Exercising with Your Dog and a Giveaway #lightandhealthy

June 10, 2014

Runners with dogs know how great it is to run with a canine counterpart. When our dogs were younger, the vet told us that even though they’re not considered a “running breed”, Bichons could be trained to run up to five miles. Well Carlo pretty much doesn’t run unless he’s chasing a squirrel… …but Remy [Read More]

Discovering Essential Oils and a Giveaway

May 7, 2014

I’ve dabbled with essential oils for years. Mostly spritzing lavender on pillows to soothe and encourage the sleep process for cranky babies and cavemen. I also picked up some grapefruit oil, simply because I found the scent pleasant and energizing. Recently, while I was amping up mileage for the Flying Pig 3-way, my coach suggested [Read More]

A Kinder, Gentler Giveaway

April 28, 2014

I have mixed feelings about bathroom scales. I go in spurts where I’ll weigh in everyday for awhile, then ignore the scale entirely. Most of the winter I’ve fallen into the latter category. You’ve probably heard me moaning about how I look in recent race photos. While I think I’ve got plenty of movement in [Read More]

Apera Bag Review and Giveaway

April 16, 2014

It’s been a tough winter. While I survived, barely, I’m sorry to say my gym bag bit the dust. It was too worn out to go on. The salt stains were the last straw. Truth is I never really loved it anyway. It wasn’t big enough (twss). Especially if I wanted to workout AND swim [Read More]

Diet-to-Go Giveaway

December 2, 2013

Whew! Happy Monday! Was that an epic Thanksgiving weekend or what? Our Thanksgiving leftovers are dwindling….probably a good thing…I may have monopolized the cheesecake a bit.  There was also some shopping–not the frantic kind in the wee hours where people trample each other and behave worse than animals. Friday afternoon in the wake of the [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
