Dreams and Bloggers and Winners Oh My!

Categories: Dream Analysis, Fitbit Aria Scale, Injinji Toe Socks

My new scale who, thanks to Big Daddy Diesel’s suggestion, will be known as El Diablo, is getting in my head. I had a dream last night that I grew so fat I had a long woolen coat that had a pleat down the back and it was flared all the way open and I still couldn’t button the coat. I woke this morning thinking this was true. Thankfully it is not.

I’ve been lucky enough to meet lots of other bloggers. I’ve been asked recently if bloggers are in real life the way they seem on their blog. In my experience, mostly they are. Even better usually. There has only been one or two instances when a blogger’s ‘real life’ personality is inconsistent with their blogging voice. Have you met other bloggers? Are your findings similar to mine?

Injinji Socks Winner! Congrats to Jacki! Please contact me and I’ll get you setup with your socks. Thanks to all who entered! Thanks to Injinji for sponsoring. I’ve got something really fun on deck for next week so stay tuned!

The universe has a way of delivering just what you need when you need it: hard lessons, a new friend, a guardian angel, you know the drill.fitbitscale

Last week this contraption, no not Thing 2, showed up on my doorstep. It’s the Fitbit Aria, Wi-Fi Smart Scale . As much as I love to hate scales, it came at the perfect time.

I tried not to whine about it too much here but I packed on some lbs. during our holiday cruise (I know, get out the violins), which I fully expected to. What I did not expect was to continue gaining weight once I got home. Mucho no bueno.

I was all ready to scream thyroid and dial up the doc in search of higher powered meds but first I decided to jerk the choke chain, er I mean pay more attention, to calories in and out.

Starting this week, I’m weighing-in and logging my food and activity. I think I’d rather have my eyes poked out with soy-sauce soaked chopsticks than keep a food log, but I’m logging. The cool thing about this scale is it sends your weight and body fat info right to your computer and displays it in a snazzy, chart-and-graph laden profile you can share with your friends…or not. It hasn’t sworn back at me yet, although it’s so smart and sassy I suspect it will. I’ll keep you posted.

Goal: Lose 12 pounds. That’ll put me back at BQ weight. Even though that’s higher than ‘ideal,’ BQ weight will always be my ideal.

To hold my feet to the fire, I’ll be sharing progress here on Wednesdays.

Do you keep a food log? What shall I name my new scale? Looks like a Darth Vader to me.

Note: I received this product free of charge as part of a promotional program with Fitbit and MomSelect. All opinions are my own.
