The tough go golfing! Well they go to the driving range at least in my case. No lie, up ’til now I had not swung a golf club this entire century. I swore off golfing once we had kids, cuz who am I kidding? I simply don’t have the time to devote to my golf game, for a few more years anyway. Pay no attention to the duffer in the mom jeans!
Unlike me, hubby has been golfing a lot lately. And he’s been making frequent weekend forays to the driving range, with the kids in tow no less. I found this kind of odd, I mean is golf that fascinating to girls this age? I got my answer when I decided to tag along. Before I knew what was happening we made a detour to the nearest gas station mini-mart where hubby proceeded to let Things 1 and 2 take their pick of
Aha! And all this time I was thinking they had a bright future awaiting on the LPGA Tour. One can dream!
Reunited and it feels so good! That’s right folks I said
good riddance good bye to those hateful Nike Vomero’s and rekindled my relationship with a fresh pair of Mizuno’s. I put them thru their paces on an 11- and a 5-mile tempo run during the week and a peppy (for me) 15-miler today. Thank heavens for a cutback week because I was dragging my behind after last week’s 5k followed by 20-mile odyssey. I didn’t mention it because I felt like if I put it in print it would be “real” but last week’s 20 ended with me limping home with achilles pain. If you’re wondering where my RR is for that 1/2 I planned this weekend, I bagged it when the achilles acted up. Thankfully (knock wood) it’s been behaving since, probably just residual ire from the hilly 5k.
Happy taper to all Chicago Marathoners! The hay is in the barn! And speaking of the marathon, it looks like I will be at the starting line on race day as well as prowling around the expo! I’m tempted to offer a bonus “prize” to anyone who can spot me in either place but that wouldn’t be fair to those not in Chicago now would it? It’d sure be fun though!
Finally, speaking of prizes: My 100th post will be here before you know it! Get on my followers list now to be eligible for my giveaway! Some of you asked if you could email me your entry: that’s fine too if you want to be shy.
