Spring Break by Number and Winner

April 2, 2012

We’re back from our cruise! Some highlights: Days spent plying warm Caribbean waters in this glorious vessel: 6 On a scale of 10, degree of wigged out I was as I jumped off a boat onto a sand bar, among hundreds of stingrays, 30 minutes off the coast of Grand Cayman: 8/10. Time it took [Read More]

Spring Break!

March 23, 2012

Guess who’s calling? Could someone be more excited? I think not. I won’t be blogging during our adventure but I’ll be tweeting and on Facebook. Have a great week!

Time Warp Weekend

March 12, 2012

There’s nothing like a funeral to remind us that life is precious and fleeting. Time stops for no one and this weekend reinforced that. My Godmother died unexpectedly.  It made me acknowledge that, on some level, barring an unforeseen accident, I’d expected her to live longer. Her mom outlived her by 10 years. Her aunt [Read More]

The Flu Bug Cometh

March 5, 2012

It’s day four now and counting since Thing 2 and I’ve been down with the flu. I thought I’d try and string a few words together before drifting into my next Nyquil-induced stupor. Weekend Rewind

June 7, 2010

These almost-summer weekends are brimming with activities, events and obligations. The calendar around here is so full, the fear of missing something really important constantly looms over my head. I’ve had a couple of close calls but, fingers crossed, no total disasters yet. Ice Show Extravaganza I think I inhaled enough glitter-infused hairspray and luminescent [Read More]

Holiday Weekend Eats!

May 28, 2010

My recipes for May are the perfect kickoff to summer. They’re delicious and festive without busting the calorie bank. Asian Grilled Chicken & Broccoslaw 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts 3 Garlic cloves, minced 1/4C Low-sodium soy sauce 3/16C Agave nectar 1T Lime juice (I won’t tell if you don’t have a lime laying around and [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
