40 days left until the Boston Marathon. 40 days for me to get my act and my running mojo together. The way I see it, I have:the rest of this week3 more weeks of solid traininga 2 week taper I did 1/2 mileage last week, 3/4 mileage this week (and I cut out the walk [Read More]

Group Cycle Redux

February 16, 2010

I missed my first long run in forever the other day and tried to atone for it by taking my pity party to the  Group Cycle class I frequented last year when I was injured about a month before Boston. I have to admit I didn’t feel too badly about missing another frigid run across the [Read More]

Find Your Edge

January 18, 2010

Source: Wasserman In yoga the other day the instructor kept saying “find your edge” as a way of motivating us to press just a bit harder (without rupturing anything hopefully), not enough to feel pain, or so hard that we stopped breathing, but just to that, well, edge. That got me to thinking about other [Read More]

Although I’m no astrologer, I interpret this blue moon on the last day [Read More]

Even the Best Laid Plans…

December 26, 2009

I had such high hopes for this holiday weekend mileage-wise. Modern Caveman is off, kids are out of school, the world is my oyster. The roads await. Not so fast. First we were shellacked with ice. Then came the monsoon that relegated me to a sentence on the treadmill. Balmy temps coupled with sudden shocks [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
