T’is the season once again to think about those beloved runners in your life. Maybe you’re looking to give the perfect gift, or how about treating yourself to something special too? Either way it’s all good. This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is Gifts for Runners. I’m going to tell you right now you [Read More]

Some Running Gear Drives Me Nuts

August 14, 2015

I’m talking about BPM. If you thought I was referring to Beats Per Minute, you’d be wrong. I’m talking about one of the newer innovations in women’s workout fashion. First there were sports bras. Then singlets with a shelf bra. Next came molded boob cups (or MBC’s) These were highly sought after because they covered [Read More]

Runners are Way Ahead of the Fashion Police

February 10, 2015

Flipping through the March issue of Glamour Magazine (I know, don’t ask) this morning I came upon one of my favorite things: Dos and Don’ts. The section on “Don’ts that are now Dos” caught my eye. According to the fashion gods at Glamour, the following are now fashion DOs: High waisted pants The intentionally visible [Read More]

Marathon Training with Coeur Sports

July 2, 2014

The following post is sponsored by Fit Approach on behalf of Coeur Sports. If you hang out with me here you know that, after waiting in the lottery since 2011, this is FINALLY my year to run the New York City Marathon and I’m more than a little excited about it. Although training doesn’t officially [Read More]

Loving/Not Loving and a Winner

June 23, 2014

Loving: That last week’s single parenting stint is over. I loved the quality time with Thing 2 but not getting out to run or bike or to the gym kind of sucked. Not Loving: Keeping these kiddos off the ‘puter. Especially when the weather’s crummy. Loving: New tights I bought with the Dick’s GC I [Read More]

Reversal of Fashion

May 23, 2014

What? We’re talking fashion now? What is this blog coming to? I mentioned I may be in somewhat of an ‘acquisition’ phase with a couple of recent workout wear purchases. First there was the quest for patterned capris (mission accomplished). Then I needed to replace my stained white tank (check). You know the drill. Along [Read More]

TTT: First World Problems

October 3, 2013

1. I effed up. You know I like to stalk the “We made too much” section of the Lululemon site in hopes of paying too much for workout wear instead of obscenely way too much. Imagine my delight when I scored this sweet tank. I got it, wore it (once) loved it, then ever so [Read More]

Let’s Talk Fitness Fashion

November 17, 2012

Probably one of my favorite things about working out, aside from the health benefits and endorphin rush, is wearing fun, fashionable gear. Yes a workout feels that much better when you look good doing it! Me? I can never have too many half zips. The brighter the better for the safety aspect as well as [Read More]

It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

March 2, 2012

When I ran my first marathon back in 2007, you know to fill the bucket and all that jazz, one of my must-haves at the race expo was an official marathon jacket. In my mind, there was nothing cooler or more badass. So on marathon eve, I shelled out no less than $130.00 for a [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
