After prolonged hemming and hawing and scowling at the forecast, here she is. The jury is still out on socks, and I think I’ll forego a headband for a hat–all the better to store ice under. Sure wish I would’ve gotten a haircut. Think my Drew Carey lookalike UPS guy will lop a few inches off when he stops by?
As is typical of me, an odd sense of calm has taken over. Chicago is a great race with awesome fans. I will do my best to take what the day brings (boo for 80% humidity) and have fun.
My heart goes out to those who will not be with me (especially my Colorado girls Jill, Geri and Tara) at the starting line due to injury. I’ll do some extra sweating for you!
