Weekend Rewind and More Q and A

July 18, 2011

Saturday was our annual pilgrimage to Wrigley for a Cubs game. Hanging out at Wrigley is always fun but wow they really stink this year…I mean they pretty much do every year…

Look at Thing 2 being her sullen self. Probably a lemon ice withdrawal.

I had a 17 mile long run on tap for Sunday. I planned to get up and out as early as possible. However I overslept until 5am. Wow hot is an understatement. The sun was still low enough that I ran in shadows mostly but I needed to circle back for more fluids after 9 miles. Nothing could lure me back out so I did the remaining 8 on the mill. Tough day out there. Be careful!

She’s gone. We took Thing 1 to the airport yesterday. She’ll be spending 10 days with her grandparents in NC. Without us. It was hard but I didn’t wanna lose it completely and make her sad so I sucked it up.

Here they are on the first day of school last year.
Here she is before she left. They grow up so fast. Sigh.

Back to Q and A:
Jill, Elena and Kovas all wanted to know what my dream race is. No expenses spared, does not have to be running.

I’d love to do a Ride & Tie someday. It’s where me, a partner and a horse alternate running and riding. There’s the small matter of having a horse to do that one. I’m diligently working on the Caveman to procure one. Maybe one of these years.

It looks something like this. Although I’m not sure what the hand holding is about. And why there’s nobody on the horse. But it could be fun, no? Any takers?
Rachelle: Do your kids think you’re studly?
Yes.
Chris K.: How did you become so studly?
Don’t you remember? You said I was. Actually I come from a long line of nails-for-breakfast, refrigerator lifting women.
Char: Were you sore after your pullups?
Amazingly no.
AJH: Patrick Dempsey or Eric Dane?
I hope I don’t lose A-listers over this but I had to google these 2 to see who they were. I suspected PD is that McDreamy guy I’ve heard about from Grey’s Anatomy (I’ve never seen the show). I’ll go Patrick Dempsey.
More Q and A to come!
What’s on tap for you this week?
Caveman’s away so I’ll be mill training all week. Probably not a bad thing. Did I tell you how hot it is here?
Did you enter my giveaway?

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
