TTT: 2 Loves, + 1 Baa Baa!

September 15, 2011

Love #1:

Bloc Scorpion Sunglasses: Kids these are my go-to glasses for running and cycling. They are super comfy and light: no pinching the bridge of the nose, no slipping and they’ve not once steamed up on me. That’s saying a ton given the humidity we’ve had this summer. Plus they look pretty menacing, yes? With the holidays fast approaching, these would make an excellent gift for you or the athlete in your life, just saying…
Thanks to Sunglassesshop.com for allowing me to try them.

Love #2

FlashBrite Stick-On Reflective Patches: If you hang around here you probably know that lots of my running happens very early in the morning. As the days get shorter, I’m out there in the dark more and more lately. That cute, reflective heart you see on my back is made of Scotchlite reflective material. I simply peeled off the backing and applied it to an already-washed shirt. It helps keep me visible and it stays in place wash after wash.
I urge you to go to the Flash-Brite website and watch their night safety video. Lots of valuable info! Flash-Brite reflective stick-ons come in a 2-pack  and sell for $3.99. There’s a variety of fun shapes for everyone, including pets.

Parents, these are awesome to put on kids’ backpacks and Halloween costumes!

Thanks to FlashBrite for allowing me to try these.

Baa Baa!

Missoni Madness: Unless you’ve been under a rock you’ve probably heard about the collection Italian knit house Missoni did for Target, which was released on September 13 and, more or less, sold out that very day. I noted it then dismissed it, as I have little to no interest. I did however find myself in said Super Tarjay yesterday on a grocery mission when I saw scant remains of the Missoni feeding frenzy that occurred the previous day. Curious to see what the hoopla was about, I ventured closer. Plump grandmother types were swooping like vultures to snag the last of the goods. XXS filmy Missoni nighty anyone?
Suddenly, overcome by peer pressure, I felt compelled to snag the socks you see above. I’ve since learned that Target’s Missoni collection is showing up all over eBay and Craig’s List at uber prices. And silly me actually wore my Missoni acquisition yesterday.

Do you ever buy stuff with intent to sell it for a profit?
Do you buy stuff you don’t really want, just because it’s the “IT” thing?

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
