Tuesday Tidbits

October 18, 2011

We’re in for a couple days of cold rain starting tomorrow. It took major restraint on my part to be smart with the dicey hip and not run two days in a row.

I ended up doing plyo intervals on the mill instead. The cardio intervals were spent walking incline mostly. Ok, I ran some….but slow. Hip felt good.

Running Ricig has another Kisses for Kate bake sale coming up later this month. Again, yours truly is baking. I planned to make Oatmeal Toffee Crunch Cookies but now I’m worried they’ll be too fragile to ship. I spent some quality time in the test kitchen today. Want a clue? Blondes, brunettes and redheads.

To my Tweeps who saw my Amber Alert for the missing Zensah Arm Sleeves, I’m happy to report they have been located. I was panicked to say the least.

Speaking of Amber Alerts, I’m pretty sure my stylist at the hair salon has issued one for me. Either that or she put my face on a milk carton. (Do they even do that anymore?) All of my hair is long enough to make it into a ponytail for the first time in maybe ever.

I’ve been feverishly prepping for our annual Halloween Party this weekend, plus the ones the kids are having at school. I set out in search of candy corn, not so much because I’m an addict (although I do think it might be good running fuel) but because, you know, the cooler weather brings out my crafty side. Alas, after hitting 3 stores, I was still candy cornless. Thankfully Target did not disappoint and I threw myself over four pounds of the stuff and hauled it home, only to realize later there are tree nuts involved in it’s manufacture–taboo for school. Boo.

What are you giving away on Halloween?

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
