3 Blessings, 1 Moment

February 23, 2012

The other day the kids and I were at the ice rink, as we usually are since it’s competition season. I was just getting ready to skate. Thing 1 was already practicing. Thing 2 was next to me working on tying her shoe.
I checked my emails one last time:
1. In that moment out of the corner of my eye I saw Thing 1 execute a perfect camel spin. For the very first time. She’d been working doggedly on this spin for some time now. I was thrilled for her. I was delighted to see her hard work and dedication pay off.

2. In that same moment, Thing 2 exclaimed. I looked over to see she’d tied her shoe perfectly. For the very first time. She worked hard and was so proud of herself. Color me doubly delighted.

3. I opened an email from Sugoi, telling me I’d been selected to be a 2012 Brand Champion. What are the odds of all these sweet things happening over the course of a single minute? Imagine my excitement.
According to Sugoi (which is Japanese for ‘incredible’ BTW, how cool is that?):

“The Brand Champion Program supports and encourages outstanding people who differ from your average athlete – those who set themselves apart from other athletes by their passion and commitment to push themselves to inspire others and to embody a motivating attitude, wherever they go.”

Ok I’m blushing. They obviously see something in me that I don’t always see in myself lately.
Sugoi’s philosophy and their quality products are something I truly believe in. I am honored to be a 2012 Sugoi Brand Champion and I look forward to representing Sugoi at upcoming races.

What sweet things are happening in your life?

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
