The Ageless Issue

November 11, 2015

What is “old” and when does it start? When I was a kid, 20 seemed old. When my best friend’s mom turned 40, that seemed ancient. When I became a teen, 21 was the magical age where everyone seemed so cool and free to do as they pleased. After that though, I think I wised [Read More]

Ultimate Coffee Date

It’s not so much the [Read More]

Here I go again about the weather. Mom Nature continues to outdo herself here. Although I do think it’s all going to hit the fan tonight, I’ve been making the most of it by hopping on my bike or hitting the trails running every chance I get. It occurred to me yesterday that running in [Read More]

Whip, Nae Nae and the Haunted Hip

November 1, 2015

It was a busy Halloween weekend. Single parenting made it even moreso. Two sleepovers (one here) a teenager party (not here thank heavens) pumpkin carving, trick or treat and a morning-after Halloween pancake breakfast kept me hopping. The mom taxi worked overtime. This was all compounded by ghastly Halloween weather: Cold, raw and rainy. The [Read More]

How to Master the Mental Aspects of Running

October 28, 2015

Want to run a race? Most of us know to hire a coach, find a training group or training plan for the day-to-day physical part of training. But how much do we train for the mental side of running?  I’m guessing for many of us it’s not much. Before I was a runner, I was a [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
