Here’s how the week in workouts went: Monday: Rest Tuesday: Speedwork at the Track Wednesday: Strength + Core Thursday: Run 3 miles Friday: 2 mile trail run + Plyo Intervals Saturday:  Run 5 miles + swim Sunday: CrossFit Quality over quantity describes my running right [Read More]

A Great Kind of Busy

June 16, 2019

Hey! It’s been quiet around here due to a combo of things. 1. It’s summer break and my focus is not on this blog 2. My work has exploded. In a good way. It’s a great kind of busy. I’m in the throes of a project I’m so passionate about, it doesn’t seem like work [Read More]

Well Hello Summer Break!

June 9, 2019

School’s officially out this week and summer weather arrived in all it’s fabulous, sun-kissed glory. We actually strung together 4 (FOUR!!!!) gorgeous, rain-free days. After our cold, wet spring, this felt quite fabulous. Here’s how the week in workouts went: Monday: Rest Tuesday: Run 2.5 miles (ran out of time) Wednesday: Run 5 miles Thursday: Swim [Read More]

Run for the Oceans with Adidas

June 7, 2019

Sustainability is a buzzword right now, but what does it mean? To me it means using less of the world’s precious resources. Walking or running instead of driving, reusing instead of tossing out, recycling and avoiding plastic as much as possible, since that stuff sits in landfills for the duration, as well as pollutes our [Read More]

Back in the Rack and a Limo Ride from Hell

June 2, 2019

I may not be running as much these days, but my post-marathon goal was to focus on strength training, and I’m happy to say I’ve held up my end of the bargain on that front.  The trail may look pretty but I won’t kid you, this run sucked. Here’s how the week in workouts went: [Read More]

Runfessions Over Cold Brew

May 30, 2019

Seriously HOW can we be saying goodbye to May already?  Maybe that’s a good thing as this month has been exceptionally cold and wet. Let’s sit down and catch up over coffee, runfession style. Since today is one of our rare nicer, warmer days, I’m going with cold brew. I’m linking up with Deb and [Read More]

Is This Thing On? Graduation Festivities

May 28, 2019

Sorry for being MIA. I’m finally coming up for air after an epic graduation weekend. Whew! It was a whirlwind. I’m not even going to bother sharing my workouts because they were minimal and spotty at best. Some short runs. One visit to the gym….that’s about it. My Garmin is giving me the stink eye. [Read More]

Running Gear That Goes the Distance + Giveaway

May 24, 2019

Now that my two marathons of the year are completed and my quest for the 6 World Marathon Majors is a mission accomplished, I’ve been reflective. Reflective on the journey, the and downs, and what, if anything, I’d do differently. Today I’m sharing running gear and accessories that have gone the distance and really helped [Read More]

The Homestretch of MAYhem

May 19, 2019

We’re in the home stretch of MAYhem here. This week was a single-parenting blur. I knocked out some big things and, kind of like an end-of-school-year Whack-a-Mole, other issues arose in their place. Before I get into that, here’s how my workouts (what are those?) shook out. Monday: Rest Tuesday: Run 3 miles, middle school [Read More]

Mother’s Day Rundown

May 12, 2019

Happy Mother’s Day! I’m  still in post-London Marathon recovery mode but overall? I’m feeling pretty darn great. 8 hours on a plane the day after a marathon is no picnic, but other than that, I feel like my body is less beat up than it was after running Tokyo. Here’s how the week in workouts [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
