#OneSmallChange Link Up Week 10

December 10, 2013

Week 10! Seriously where is the time going? Our last-quarter challenge is winding down. Here’s how it’s gone for me so far:

photo (15) (1)

  1. Keep kitchen counters clutter free
  2. Drink at least 64 oz water daily
  3. Do a 2 minute daily plank sequence
  4. Drink warm water with lemon every morning**
  5. Plan meals
  6. Get out for a 10-minute or longer decompression walk on non-running days
  7. Do at least 2 burpees daily
  8. Gratefulness
  9. Hold

Not adding a new one last week was the right call. It was a week of catching my breath. Similar to a cutback week in a training plan I guess. The counters are clear(ish) again. I’m getting my water and the Vitamin D supplements are helping me through these days of minimal daylight. The burpees are coming easier. I can whip off 10 now. Say what? I wish I could tell you the extended family drama was over but it’s not. Some chose not to be with us on Thanksgiving and will not be there for Christmas either. Sigh. But it’s all relative, right? First world problems. Kindness will be the small change I add this week.

For week 10, I’m incorporating today’s #Elf4Health theme of paying it forward. While this is the challenge for TODAY, I’m going to make it my One Small Change and pay-it-forward daily through the end of the year.

For fun (and to help get my kids onboard) we created this “Sleigh of Elfin Goodness” and filled Santa’s bag with 21 ‘snowballs’ each with a pay-it-forward activity. Since it was snowing and blowing, today’s PIF was shoveling the walks of our neighbors on each side.

How about you? What One Small Change will you make this week? Tell us about it and link it up below.

Oh how I dislike family drama…. luckily we cut loose from ours a few years ago but there is a final showdown yet to come, I am sure! Hope you have a great week.

We don’t have much family drama anymore because we don’t do holidays with anyone except Sam & Stacy (my brother and family who came for Thanksgiving).
I love that you are getting the kids involved and doing the pay-it-forward everyday for the rest of the year – what a great idea!!!

I love the One Small Change idea – so simple, but so empowering.

I come from a BIG family, so there is always a little drama, but since we’re all pretty crazy it always seems to work out eventually 🙂

Those are awesome steps. I love the daily few burpees! Planking too… I could be better at that.

One small change: find 5 minutes each morning to plank and another 5-10 at night for more core work.

Hello, Neat post. There is a problem with your website in web explorer, might check this?

IE nonetheless is the market leader and a huge component of other people will leave out your fantastic writing due to this problem.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my
4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She
put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her
ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

Superb blog you have here but I was wanting to know if you knew of any discussion boards that
cover the same topics talked about here? I’d
really like to be a part of group where I can get suggestions from other experienced
individuals that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
    Cheers!

I’ve been surfing on-line greater than 3 hours lately, but I
by no means found any interesting article like yours.

It’s lovely price sufficient for me. Personally, if all
site owners and bloggers made just right content as you did, the internet will be a lot
    more helpful than ever before.

I’m not sure why but this web site is loading incredibly slow
for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is
it a issue on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
