WIN Detergent Review & Giveaway

October 7, 2014

I am by far, no domestic goddess but I have a secret: I enjoy doing laundry. Especially washing workout clothes. Lots of sweaty workout stuff means I had a productive week. The Caveman generates an auspicious pile of dirty workout stuff as well. Add in the fact that both girls (Things 1 and 2) are runners and skaters and it’s not uncommon to have a pile rivaling that of Everest.

Admittedly, my laundering process is quite laborious in that it involves a pre-soak. All the better to get and keep the permastink out. When I had the opportunity to try WIN detergent, I was skeptical…but hopeful…because losing the pre-soak means more time to run.

I tried Original WIN and WIN Green. The Original has a subtle fresh scent I liked. For sensitive types like the cough Caveman cough, the Green version has no scents or dyes. Each 32 oz. bottle has enough for 21 loads. Buy some here.

So I got busy with WIN. Our technical workout clothes came out clean, fresh smelling and vibrant. No pre-soak, spot treating or scrubbing needed.  I just let them air-dry as always. Could not have been easier.

WIN IT! One lucky reader will win 2 full-size bottles of WIN (Original and Green).

I just bought a little bottle of Tide Sport, it mostly covers up the stink, doesn’t get rid of it.

I wash my workout clothes with my dress clothes for work, usually as delicates. I know I should wash them separately, it’s just adding to the load count though!

I usually wash them in Gain detergent.

Usually just wash them with my Normal Clothes using normal detergent. They never quite have that fresh smell and would love to try some of the WIN!

I don’t use a sport wash right now, but I know I need to!

I received a bottle of Penguin Sports Wash when we bought our new washing machine, but it doesn’t work very well.

I usually just wash my technical fabric in our regular laundry detergent, Gain. I’d like to try Win.

I have been happy with Tide pods. With growing dudes, though, and hormonal odour starting to infiltrate the house, I’m starting to experiment with other detergents. Like you, I enjoy laundry so am actually looking forward to trying new things. I’d love to give Win a go.

So, does this work with the funk smell that a to of dry fit shirts tend to hang on to???
Hunter wears those type of shirts every day and I have tried Tide Sport which ended up just having this overly sweet smell – not great!!!

I gasped when you said you enjoyed laundry and then I read the part where you said because you know lots of working out has been done. That, I get. But I do not enjoy laundry – mostly the folding part.
Yes, there is arsenic in store bought chicken but a year ago 3 of the 4 carcinogens were removed from their feed. Research is now being done on the final carcinogen. My hope is that, since the amounts are much lower than before, it will be excreted before it gets to the meat and to the table.

I hand wash all my workout gear. Does WIN have a clean, green product for hand laundry?

I loath laundry…and am a bad girl and wash all my clothes together (I do seperate whites vs. darks) and have never had a problem. hehe

  20. Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says

I hang my sweaty gear up to dry after I work out. Then I just wash as usual. But I’d try this stuff…I have 2 stinky boys here..

  21. Katie says

    October 8, 2014 at 9:27 am

I’ve given up most moisture wicking performance type fabric because it tends to reek once you get a single drop of sweat on it. If I had good detergent maybe I could reintroduce some performance gear back into my wardrobe!

I would love to try the Green WIN. We have ice hockey in addition to my running going on here, and I’ll take all the help I can with that laundry!

  28. Lisa N. says

    October 13, 2014 at 2:33 pm

I use regular detergent, but sometimes for a particularly stinky load I put in some Oxyclean.

  29. Trish says
