Favorite Essential Oil Recipes for Fall

October 19, 2017

Oh hello Friday! It’s so good to see you again. I wish I could say this week was worlds less stressful than last week but the truth is, while it was challenging, I got through it and that’s what matters. Let’s just say there’ve been lots of deep breathing and stress-relief techniques going on here. I mentioned my love of diffusing essential oils and many of you asked me about my favorite Essential Oil Recipes for Fall. Well the wait is over. Today I’m sharing five of them!

What Are Essential Oils?

Essential oils are the natural oils derived from plants through a process called distillation, usually using steam or water. After the distillation process is complete, you are left with a concentrated form of the plant’s oils, including the fragrance and therapeutic properties of the plant.

Why Use Essential Oils?

Truth: I love burning candles as much as the next girl. What I don’t love are the risks associated with them. Not so much the open flame in the house aspect (although there’s always risk with that) but moreso the chemicals. According to research done at South Carolina State University, while vegetable-based candles that are free of scent and color dyes are fine, petroleum-based paraffin wax candles that are scented and pigmented release harmful chemicals into the air. Of course the scent is a big part of the allure of candles. That’s where essential oils come in.

Find all of the Essential Oils I’m going to recommend here.

I hope you try some of these recipes and maybe even come up with a few favorites of your own!

Bring the cozy scents of fall into your home with these essential oil blends. #essentialoils

I need to jump on the oils bandwagon! Your recipes sound nice! Maybe there’s a stress-reducing blend? I could use it at work.

I love the smell of fall! These combinations look great! I am trying to get away from burning candles as well although I do love it. I need to work my oils!

I need to get a diffuser – I used thieves oil when I had a cold a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, but I just put it in hot water and breathed it. I would have loved to have my house smell of it.

I used essential oil lavender in Texas because it supposedly keeps scorpions away. You put it on the outside of the door and supposedly they stay away from the fumes. I had a couple in my second apartment, but that year I could use the sticky traps by the door since I didn’t have any pets. Once I got Allie, the sticky traps had to go since they say don’t use around pets.

I’ve dabbled just a tiny bit in EOs, but haven’t really gotten into it yet.

It wasn’t a stressful week here, thankfully, just busy. You can always tell when I drop off of IG that I’m busy. Maybe I just need some EOs to focus & for energy. ๐Ÿ™‚

I used to get oils from bath and body works. Body shop? One of those. I mixed them together and they were great. Why didn’t I ever think of mixing essential oils? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

I’ve been concerned with the health dangers of candle burning (the hubs constantly leaves candles burning in the house unattended and will even leave the house with them burning)… I’ve got to try these.

Confession, I am not very educated on the essential oils trend, though I know it’s big right now. Your recipe blends sound heavenly ๐Ÿ˜‰
