So Much to Blog About So Little Time

October 23, 2009

Many of you have asked me about marathon recovery and if I do anything special. The quick answer is this time has been my best, quickest recovery yet and yes I have a whole regime I’d planned to share with you today, until life got in the way.

I’ve been busy all week volunteering at Thing 2’s preschool bakesale. I’ve been a baking and selling fiend. I ended up making something healthier (whole grain oatmeal chocolate chip bars with reduced sugar) and something off the charts decadent (chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with marshmallow cream filling). Both mighty tasty if I say so myself. Say the word and I’ll share the recipes. All for a good cause.

Plus tomorrow is our lord knows what annual Halloween Party and Chili Throwdown. So I’ve been concocting my chili, making various spooky dips, jack o’ lantern cake, and a vast array of other festive seasonal faves.
The only thing I haven’t done is get a wig to complete my costume. It’s been rainy here to the point where I’ll need to construct an ark to get to a Halloween store. Like I said life (and rain) get in the way sometimes.
I’ll be back early next week with my recovery details. Until then have a wonderful weekend!

Good luck to this weekend’s racers!
To my peeps running the Marine Corps Marathon
 have a great time!
Good luck and safe travels to Andrew who’s running
the Dublin Marathon!
Can’t wait to hear about your races!

A great new GIVEAWAY is coming soon!
As usual followers will get a bonus entry so get onboard if you haven’t already!

"the word"! 😉 I would love your recipes since I have to do some preschool baking myself this week!!

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
