Weigh-In Wednesday and Other Gobbles

November 23, 2011

Our first two social engagements of the season happened last weekend. Wow they were fun. We are blessed with wonderful neighbors. While I didn’t go crazy eating at these parties, I didn’t restrict myself either. But I could tell that still I ate more than my body wanted/needed.
Week 1: -1.4
This week: -1
Total: -2.4 pounds
Weightloss + party season = serious happy dance.

Last week I joined What I Ate Wednesday at Peas and Crayons. This week I’m off the wagon, already, as I did not take pics yesterday. Chalk that up to being elbow-deep in Thanksgiving prep for 26.

Do you nibble while you cook?

Aren’t these cute? No I didn’t make them.
Like I’d have any candy corn left. Ha!
Punked?
I’ve been to Target twice in the last 24 hours. Just when I think I have everything I need for the big day, there’s something else. On my second trip there yesterday my bill came to $49.33 before tax. I had a $5 off coupon when you spend $50 just smoldering, begging to be used in my purse. I threw in a pack of gum and whipped the coupon out. However, in the meantime, I had a few (no not 200) other coupons the clerk was scanning. When he got to my $5 one, my bill was below $50 so he wouldn’t honor it.
Fair? Or was I punked? The total of my purchases was >$50. Hmmmm….

Thankful
  • That everyone in my extended family is employed (knock wood) for the first time in 4 years.
  • For happy, healthy kids and parent/teacher conferences last night that made me proud.
  • For two dogs that make me feel like Oreo filling when they snuggle up to me and haven’t crapped on the floor in awhile (I know I totally jinxed that).
  • For everyone who stops by here to read my drivel, and for the special friendships.
  • That the very first person to comment on my blog so many moons ago still reads and comments and I’m hoping she’ll join our relay next year!
  • There’s so much more but there are turkeys to brine, tables to set and race packets to pick up.

Have a Happy, Healthy, Safe and Wonderful Thanksgiving!

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
