Weekend Rewind and 3 Winners

April 16, 2012

First, how many times lately do you hear me say this? Yeah pretty much never: I had a solid workout week!

  • All of my runs felt strong.
  • I made it to yoga, didn’t tear or rupture anything and split shorts guy was a no-show.
  • I went to cycle class and was called a ‘new face.’ Oops.
  • Did all of my strength and core workouts.

Can I get a boom shakalaka?

The only thing I didn’t do was get out on Blanche the trusty road bike. This was for safety reasons as Blanche seems to have little to no brakes left. I think she needs a spa day.

Do you have your bike tuned up?

I am still Garmin-less so my paces are a mystery. But whatever they were they felt good and that’s what counts right? About that Garmin: I planned on using my REI coupon for a new one until I realized GPS devices were not eligible for the discount. Sigh.  Soooo I’m playing the field until a good deal crosses my path. I’m going to try some iPhone apps and see if any of those float my boat.

Do you use a smart phone run tracking app?

My new addition:

I call her Katniss. Since there is no new Garmin to name Katniss, this will have to do. Isn’t she pretty? Her maiden creation was going to be some black bean brownies, alas we had a tween sleepover this weekend and the brownies never happened.

Alright, enough about my weekend shenanigans and on to the Champion winners!

  2. Christa
  3. Miss Zippy

Ladies please email me at teamarcia at gmail dot com and I’ll get you set up!

Thanks to everyone who entered! Thanks to Champion for sponsoring!

Thanks so much to everyone posting and tweeting their play-by-plays from Boston today. I am loving every second of it and living vicariously through you. Run strong and smart in the heat today and of course have a blast!

Katniss! I love it 😉 and I love my kitchenaid —-though mine is plain gray not cool red like yours!

I think I could live without my garmin for longer than my kitchenaid, so you made the right choice!

    Nice job with workouts!

    Katniss! Love it!

I have to admit – domestic goddess I am not…I could live without my mixer longer than a Garmin. Congrats on the new purchase!

Don’t you hate it when the instructors say you are a new face. I have been going to Bodypump regularly for around 6 months and a teacher that doesn’t usually teach when I go, came over and asked if I had ever done the class, 2 weeks in a row! Bummer that the REI coupon doesn’t work on Garmins:( I usually find that the coupons exclude the things that I want to buy:) Congrats on your beautiful new Kitchenaide! SO pretty.

An anagram for Katniss is Sin Task, in case you were wondering. Great job on the weekly workouts. Do you really need brakes on the bike?

Yay! I am so excited – thanks, Champion and to you of course.

I use the CardioTrainer app on my Droid. I am waiting for my birthday in June to ask for a Garmin. Patience is killing me right now.

I love the red color – my Keurig is red – maybe I need this to match 🙂

Congrats on such a solid week! You’re right- it’s rare that everything lines up and goes perfectly. It’s always nice to have a break from the Garmin, too. Love meeting Katniss, she’s a beauty!

I have to get my bike tuned up about once a year – because it gets rusty from non-use 🙂 Love the mixer! I have a similar one. I guess I should name her!

Yes! I love your mixer. I still won’t let anyone touch mine. It is MINE. MINE.
Oh, and I have been using MapMyRun with my iphone. Seems to work pretty good!

You have the best names for your appliances/gadgets/gear. Maybe I should name the recumbent bike I’ve been using at my gym. I’ll take a closer look tomorrow and go with whatever springs to mind. I complain about the bike, but I’m really grateful to have him/her.

I have that same KitchenAid. Love love it. Check Amazon out for deals on the Garmin. Or Costco. They have random sales!

I wish other solid workout weeks!
I cannot anymore run without my garmin.
I cannot anymore live without my i-phone.
…and when I began to run we wore only cotton, there were only clocks with one memory and we didn’t yet know the mp3 players…Stone Age…

Wow, black bean brownies…very healthy! I love black beans and rice.

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
