Almost Wordless Wednesday

May 9, 2012

Yesterday I amped up my badassery by running my first ever pre-relay 2/day workout. It was weird being out running in the evening. The light is different, the traffic heavier, more people out and about. My legs actually felt better than they did earlier. Alas this geriatric is still tired from last weekend’s half and I had the pace to prove it. I am loving my new shirt, scored from Suz and Allan’s Virtual Race. ย  Self-fulfilling prophecy.

Have you/do you run 2x/day?

LOVE this shirt. Orange is my favorite color – and it is also the HAPPIEST color.

    Nice job doing a 2 a day!

Maybe you should reward yourself with a good massage for your efforts ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve run 2x day once or twice, just when opportunities have arisen to run with people at different times. Since my pace is never smoking, it was fine. Fun, even. I did feel a little badass. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Love the shirt!

Can I just say that you look awesome in orange??!! You look awesome in orange! There, I said it. ๐Ÿ™‚

    I want that entire outfit.

First of all, I want that shirt. Secondly, I LOVE two-a-days. I always feel better for the second run. I think it’s because I get to relax, like I’m already done with my run, so this is just for fun! No pressure.

I ran twice yesterday too! Once during my lunch break and then after work with fellow Ragnar teammate Linda. My legs definitely felt better on the second run too.

    You were already badass anyway!

I did a 2-a-day once because of scheduling conflicts that split a 14-miler in half. I did 8 in the late morning and another 6 later that evening. It was fun, actually, because the first run was on my own while part of the 2nd run was with family!

    LOVE the new shirt!

We did do a few two-a-days for our relay but we ran 12 hours a part so it didn’t really feel like we ran twice in one day. We normally run in the evening though so it didn’t really bother us. Great job on your runs!

You look so cute! I don’t typically run 2X a day but will be exercising 2X today. Run in the morning and going to the gym on the afternoon. I am excited!

I rarely one twice in one day, its usually just poor planning – for me its hard though. And dang, does the laundry add up! Love the shirt!

You’re the second person I’ve heard of lately that’s doing 2 a days! I do 2 a days but they come in the form of two different sports, like yesterday I ran and swam.

That color looks great on you! What a fun shirt!

Good job on the 2 a days. That’s hard work.

I’ve a few bricks and last summer I biked then swam, but nothing hard core. I need to get back at it!

    Cute shirt!!
I do two-a-days sometimes, usually on Tuesdays when the track group meets in the evenings. Sometimes I run in the morning and do weights or swim in the afternoon. Or vise versa. I’m on no huge plan if you can’t tell.

I’m a huge fan of your badassery (my new favorite word). I’ve never done 2x per day. Even when I was doing a relay, I just relied on the marathon training I already was doing. I definitely want to try two a day sometime. I’ve heard it’s actually easier on the body!

Love that orange shirt. I love two a days. And isn’t it amazing that our legs can feel so good the second time out? You go with your badass self!

Great new shirt! I’ve only recently starting doing 2 runs in a day (only when I have more miles than I can fit in before my husband leaves) and I was surprised how much I liked it. Way to go!

    Love the shirt!

I really like two-a-days. Especially if it means I get an extra rest day in! And if it means I can run less in a run but run mover overall that week! I need to do more of them ๐Ÿ™‚

Too funny – my post today was all about how to add mileage by running multiple times a day. For me, it was all about figuring out how to train with young children at home when I first started running ultras. I had to run a little here and there when I could fit it in. Cute pic!

You’re not geriatric! Kudos on the two-a-day, that’s awesome that the 2nd one felt better!

    I’m starting two-a-days on the 19th!

    Beautiful outfit!!!
I have run in the evening for many years and yes, everything is different. However the workouts in the dark are amazing, especially in winter.

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
