Staycay and Zooma and a Winner Oh My!

June 26, 2012

We celebrated Thing 1’s 11th birthday with a ‘staycay’ weekend in the city. Several items were checked off the summer bucket list. Rather than bore you with details I’ll bore you (briefly) with some pics:

Other than a boatload of walking, my workouts included some Shaun T. action and one last leisurely long run before Marine Corps Marathon kicked off on Monday.

Judging from your pictures here and on Instagram, your staycation looks better than a lot of my vacations!

I’m jealous of your ZOOMA ambassadorship. That’s too cool!

Wow-11 years! Happy birthday to her! I would love to do a Wisconsin race… but I don’t think I’ll be traveling for races this fall. There are plenty around here to choose from.

Chicago is such a great city to take kids. I envy you having it so nearby! Looks like you all had a great time.

I’d love to race in Wisconsin in October–I’ll bet it will be beautiful!

Love my city, glad you got to have a little piece of it this weekend! It’s kinda sick that I know what hotel you stayed at just from your RS table cloth, hope you had a lovely 5-star time and that they treated you like celebs! I actually used to work there in RS, so if they didn’t…gotta crack the whip;)

Happy Birthday, Thing 1!! What a really fun staycation you guys had..especially the room service and cupcakes :).

I’ve been going to an hour-long Insanity bootcamp now and then … but it’s clear across town and I hated the commute so just stopped. Was thinking I’d buy the Insanity DVDs but then I found Dr. Oz’s 15 minute Insanity workout (with Shaun T)…I did it twice in a row and thought I was going to puke.

    Happy Birthday to Thing 1

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
