Vega Energizing Smoothie Review/Giveaway

June 18, 2012

I am a huge fan of all things Vega. These Energizing Smoothies were no exception. What could be easier than a complete shake in a convenient, portable envelope? Each serving has:

  • 2 servings of veggies
  • 10 grams of complete, plant-based protein
  • 5 grams of fiber
  • 1 gram of Omega-3.

Shake it up just with some water or splash in some of your favorite juice, almond milk (hello beloved coconut milk), add fruit, spinach, whatever floats your boat. I may have added coffee to the chocolate one…just saying… While I enjoyed the ease and convenience of tossing one of these packets in my gym bag and just adding water, I admit I preferred the taste when I added frozen fruit, spinach, coconut milk, etc. and whipped it up in the blender.

There are 5 great flavors:

  • Chocolate
  • Berry
  • Vanilla Almond
  • Tropical
  • Natural

Be sure to enter Vega’s Get Energized Photo Contest!ย 110 prizes are up for grabs! Here’s me with my ‘black beauty’ recovery shake after yesterday’sย crazy humid long(ish) run. I made it with Vega Energizing Smoothie in natural, coconut milk, Spirulina, Spinach, frozen berries and a splash of cherry juice.

Win It!

One lucky reader will receive 3 large envelopes of Vega Energizing Smoothie in their most popular flavors: chocolate, vanilla almond and berry.
a Rafflecopter giveaway

ย Note: I received this product free of charge however the opinions expressed here are my own.

What is your favorite shake/smoothie ingredient?

Do you name your shakes?

I felt the same way! The shakes were a little gritty when you just mixed them with liquid.

I think Chocolate most appeals to me, because I use vanilla protein powder so much already.

I LOVE Vega, especially that it’s plant-based nutrition, without all the extra junk a lot of so-called energy drinks have that our bodies just don’t need. Their sports nutrition line is great, too, especially their electrolyte drink powder.

I’m all for vanilla flavored smoothies. I’m a little “eh” about berry smoothies, because they can sometime taste a little to forced in flavor. I LOVE adding frozen bananas to my smoothies, as well as pineapple.

Vanilla almond sounds tasty, although I usually opt for the most ‘natural’ option available ๐Ÿ™‚
