I’ve Got a Date

July 16, 2012

3 weeks of marathon training are on the books. But I’ve got more pressing issues to talk about today:

Zooma Great Lakes Kickoff: Join us Thursday, July 19 at 6pm at Fleet Feet on Wells for the Zooma Great Lakes Kickoff party! There’ll be snacks and yoga and ambassadors galore! Remember to register using GLAMB3 to save $10 off the half marathon or $5 off the 5k! See you there?

Ok let’s cut to the chase:

Rock n Roll Chicago Half . Yep time flies it’s this Sunday. I haven’t been paying much, ok any attention to this race. Let the record show there will be no taper. It’ll most likely be blazing hot, which means my only goal will be to finish, not swear too much and not soak my electronics with cups of water. Then I got asked out on a Chi RnR ‘running date’:

With a certain Bachelor:

Dr. Andy Baldwin to be precise. I’m only a sporadic watcher of The Bachelor since it’s on pretty much past my bedtime. I think I missed Dr. Andy’s season, although I do remember clips of it. In addition to a Lieutenant Navy Commander, he’s an accomplished marathoner/triathlete and humanitarian…oh and he’s easy on the eyes if you hadn’t noticed.  After stalking his race times, I hope he brings a jet pack for me or at least a rickshaw. I suppose I’d better shave my pits…get out my cougar, I mean cheetah skirt, and think of some sparkling convo.

Help! What do you wanna know about Bachelor Andy Baldwin?

Haha, always nice to have someone to keep you motivated (with great running mantras… or a fabulous smile) during a race 🙂 Good luck and hope the heat isn’t too bad!

Abbey and I used to watch The Bachelor many, many years ago (like 8 maybe?) – I don’t think I’ve seen it sense. No clue who Andy is…but he can ask me out on a Chi date anytime. Super jealous there of ya :).

I was thinking of you yesterday when I was slugging through 5 tempo paced miles… “If Marcia can do 7 is deadly hot temps, surely you can suffer through 5 in the comforts of your AC basement treadmill!!” Thank you!! 🙂

    xo

um. seriously. so incredibly jealous!!!! i love the bachelor/bachelorette–currently watching the “men tell all” as I type. I want to know if he is single. if he regrets doing the show. i follow him on twitter and want to know how he manages to find the time to balance, work/life/appearances and still have time to train. i’ll keep thinking…

So this isn’t running related at all, but I always wonder if the producers of the show influence who they pick in the beginning of the process (i.e. encourage them to keep more dramatic, entertaining people around).

I don’t watch the Batchelor, I don’t think I have since, way before I was married, since the batchelorette season where the blonde Trista met the HOT firefighter from Colorado Ryan. I chose him from day 1.
I’m running the Zooma in Cape Cod, super excited about the girls weekend!

Lucky you to run with him. Lots of pictures please!

And great job on conquering Week 3 of training!

OMG! I watch EVERY season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette and totally stalked Ryan Sutter (winner from 1st Bachelorette) at the Disney World 1/2 Marathon this year. You are so lucky! Did he really ask you or are you just going to stalk Andy? Find out if he’s single!!

    See you Thursday!

Mmmm… I am surprised at how many Bachelor/Bachelorette triathlete/marathoners there are! I definitely appreciated Ryan Sutter gracing us with his presence at the Chicago Triathlon last year. I actually didn’t realize who he was when I saw him and was wondering “why is he SOOO much more attractive than all the other athletes?” and then someone mentioned who he was.

That’s awesome – I loved his season! Guess you could say I’m a Bachelor fan.

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
