Casting Off for the Holidays

December 21, 2012

Yesterday I was taunting mother nature to bring on the snow already. Today we have cold, vicious winds, some (not enough) snow but mostly a hard shallacking of ice. Mom nature I love the snow but I prefer icing on donuts. Sidewalks? Not so much.

If I don’t break a hip getting the kids on and off the bus for their last day of school, we are leaving to spend the holidays island style.

It will be weird not being with extended family on Christmas, but I’m so looking forward to this adventure with the Caveman and kiddos. I’ve come to realize it’s the experiences we cherish (and laugh about) the most, rather than the plastic toys and ‘stuff’ that are forgotten soon after they’re opened.

Don’t be too jealous. It won’t be all fun and games…ok yes it will. I will be running and working out. And eating like it’s my job and enjoying coffee every stinking day. No once-a-week java rationing on vacay. ย No sireee.

frschews

I even packed my crusty lifting gloves. Plus I’ll be testing out energy chews from FRS and reporting back.

balegasocks

I’ll also be putting these beauties through their paces. Balega–my all-time favorite running sock. Purple makes me swoon…count on it.

Thank you for hanging out with me this year and reading my drivel. I truly appreciate everyone who stops by and I love that I had the opportunity to meet so many of you this year. May your holidays be blessed with happiness, love and good cheer! I’ll catch up with you in the new year!

Here’s to new adventures!

PS: 3 prizes are still unclaimed! Don’t make me pick new winners but I will if I have to. Go here and here to see if you’ve won!

Have a fantastic trip! Tropical sounds about perfect right now. And I am so with you–it’s the things we do together, not the stuff we buy, that make the memories. Happy holidays!

Happy Holidays to you and your family Marcia!!! I hope it was amazing ๐Ÿ™‚

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
