Diet-to-Go Review

January 5, 2013

How many times have I said it? “If I had a personal chef to make me exactly what I need to eat, I too would look like (insert celeb of choice here).” Are you guilty of this?

I came back from vacation finding just that. A huge, insulated box of freshly prepared meals from Diet-to-Go diet delivery service. They were individually wrapped, labelled with complete nutrition info, and marked when to eat. I have arrived! Er I mean I’ve arrived HOME! Behold the deliciousness: Breakfasts in top row, lunches in center, dinners on bottom.

mydiettogoAll were absolutely delicious, made with top-quality ingredients that required nothing more than a quick heat-up before enjoying. Talk about time saving! Some of the entrees were new to me: tamale pie and a mushroom strata. Many gave me new ideas for my own cooking and meal prep for the family. I also learned more about portion sizes and saw exactly what I got for approx. 500 calories as well as how I felt after.

All of the meals were plenty of food for me. Some I could not even finish, so no deprivation at all.

Diet-to-Go offers three tasty menus: traditional, vegetarian and low-carb; 20 plans to choose from. They’ve been rated #1 in a blind taste test by Epicurious. Take advantage of the New Year’s Special and save 25% off your first order by using coupon code “newyear2013” until January 8.

Diet-to-Go is doing a Facebook giveaway of 1,000 meals! Enter for a chance to win one month or one week of free meals.

Have you ever used a personal chef or diet delivery service?

Sounds really good, I know some pre-made diet foods taste like cardboard… it would be difficult to maintain that if you had to eat everyday, Diet-to-Go on the other hand , sounds tasty!

Sounds awesome! One question: do you have to heat them in the plastic? The food looks yummy!

Carrie you can heat them in the trays they come in but I took it out.

I’ve been intrigued by the idea but could never afford it!

How nice to come home from vacation and find your ‘fridge stocked’ with ready made meals. Lovely.

Are you able to select meals for dietary restrictions?

I’m so impressed with their flavor choices. And glad they are lower in sodium. Finally!!!

Wow, I am very impressed – I’ve never known anyone that has used one of those services. I so need it (but no way I could afford it!). Looks tasty too!

Your package I mailed came back today, seems the stupid scale at the post office short changed me and wants more money. WTH!?!? So it’ll be Monday now before it goes out. Sorry.

I agree they were great and it was also a great way to see how much the portion was! It helped me not to eat too much since it was portioned out for me already!! Great review!

I get meals from Green Gourmet Chicago 2-3 days/week and spread them out across the week depending on other commitments. The food is fresh and delicious and helps my body to learn portions, too. I supplement with extra veggies and fruit.

Sometimes my son cooks for me 🙂

I’ve never used any of these services. My husbands diet is so restrictive because he has multiple disabling diseases so it’s just easier to cook everything myself.

What a great meal service!!! I’ve never tried any of the services – I’m sure it would be way to pricey for a family so I would still have to fix meals! Maybe if I’m ever going to be home for a few days by myself!!

Looks yummy! I’ve never had anything like this, we probably wouldn’t be able to justify it though.

Wow, I never knew there was such a thing! I’m not a good candidate – I like cooking. As with many prepared foods, subscribers may want to watch that their sodium levels don’t add up over the recommended 2300mg.

I have given this some thought, I should sit down and ficure of the cost effieciency of it

Now that is a fun thing to come home to after a long holiday – especially if you are like me and ate and ate and ate!
