Poor Hygiene Will Cost You

June 17, 2013

First, remember last week when I was so sad this happened?

picstitch

Well she came back and all was right with the world…for 24 hours…until this happened.

IMG_0944

Yep, gone again, this time off to Girl Scout camp in Colorado. But this time, I did not cry. I’m definitely toughening up in my old age.

Did you have a nice Father’s Day? We did…sans one child. Since the Caveman has returned every. single. thing. we ever got him, I returned the favor he did me on Mother’s Day and set him loose in Lululemon. Except he didn’t bite. Apparently Lululemon does not hold the same allure for him as it does me.

Our day went like this:

pond

Run first thing: It was gorgeous…if you like sweltering hot. My shoulder hurt and I couldn’t get air. Can I get some cheese with this whine?

Thing 2 and I went directly to the pool (read no shower) FINALLY! while the Caveman hit golf balls and worked out.

Then, because the Caveman was set on watching the final round of the US Open, we hit up Whole Foods directly from the pool (read still no shower) to reload our Kombucha stash.

It was there my poor hygiene exacted the ultimate price: Who was hawking protein powder in the freezer aisle? None other than Fabio.

fabio

Freaking FABIO!

And my hair was plastered back with sweat/chlorine/sun block and I smelled like a barn. I realized this just as I abandoned my cartload of Kombucha and was about to elbow my way to the front of the line shouting “Do you know who I am?”

Sigh.

When I was at WF’s last week I saw something about Fabio and was like what does he have to do with WF. Protein powder, awesome. I thought it might be hair related or something. Never fails you don’t look good and something like this happens!

We had such a good day at a forest preserve, winery, ending with a movie and the Spurs game, lots of fun, but definitely not on par with seeing Fabio! ๐Ÿ™‚

You are too funny! My husband wouldn’t bite in Lululemon either… I never know what to get him!

Sounds like your kid, at least, is having a fantastic summer! I’m jealous of her travels!

I laugh at the idea of my husband in lululemon. Nope, men just don’t get it. Sorry about the Fabio thing ๐Ÿ™‚

Your daughter is traveling so much!! I’m jealous!

Mike would probably buy me stuff in lululemon, but I don’t own any of their clothes anyway.

I was laughing so hard at you and Fabio!!!
Showering – overrated!! Just kidding – but I’m the same way in the summer – workout and get nasty sweaty then head to the swim beach or the pool. By 2 or 3 when I finally shower I can barely stand to be around myself.

I literally just spit out my water when I read that you smelled like a barn! Is it me, or has Fabio aged at all these last 15 years??!!

Biz he is ageless. I think that incident with the bird on the roller coaster may have something to do with it.

Seriously? Fabio? That is so coooool…. and I watched the final round of the U.S. Open, too… or at least the last few holes!

I am so excited to be your Zee Bee Threads winner… gonna check their web site again and will be emailing you shortly.

    Wahoooo!

    OMG – Fabio – hilarious!!!!!

Personally I think Fabio’s hair style’s had its day. Once you hit your mid 50s it’s not so sexy to be sporting that bedraggled look. I think he should do a Micheal Bolton and see a stylist and it’ll take years off.

I saw that Fabio was at Whole Foods yesterday…my store…I was kind of surprised and couldn’t help but think that WF is jumping the shark…Fabio? Really? When I think of healthy eating, he isn’t the first person that comes to my mind…ugh.

Had a good run in Wisconsin yesterday AND went waterskiing–got up on one ski the first try. Spent the rest of the day with my family and my dad. It was a perfect day.

Wow, your daughter is quite the traveller! Glad you are adjusting.

Hilarious that you saw Fabio. And, my husband doesn’t get Lulu either. Maybe it’s just their prices that scare him away.

Maybe it’s time to throw a box of baby wipes in the trunk in case you need to wipe some sweat away in the event of a Fabio siting. Maybe a hat too :-).

Ohhh no!! I’ve taken the pool bath many times, but luckily never stumbled on Fabio. That’s as bad as when I wanted to talk to Ryan Sutter from the Bachelorette with my smurf face after the Disney Half Marathon!

You are so brave to not cry when the girl went off to camp.. I would have been a blubbering mess. Fabio sighting is fab-u-lous I bet he loved your sweat and chlorine slicked back hair, that’s how guys are, you get all dressed up and they don’t see you, it’s when your gross and sweaty they think you look gorgeous.. serious.. that’s why they don’t get LuLu, they would be just fine seeing you in second hand running clothes from Wal-Mart. #sexy

That was funny! Poor Fabio having to deal with fun stank ๐Ÿ˜‰
My kids haven’t gone off to camp, yet…not sure how I’ll react. We did leave our 3 y/o son behind for 16 days when we went to China to adopt our daughter and I was a bit of a mess then.

Hahaha! Too funny! My husband never likes things either, sometimes, it just means he gets nothing. I can be evil that way. ๐Ÿ™‚
