#Elf4Health and #OneSmallChange Link Up Week 8

November 26, 2013

Elf4Health Challenge Day 2: Unsubscribe! I did a massive purge of my email inbox. Whew that felt good! What’s up with these companies who send an email every. freaking. day. anyway?? Does anyone appreciate this? If there’s a fantastic sale, great, I’d love to know about it. But otherwise? Give it a rest. How do you feel about email? Is your inbox neat and tidy? Have you tried unroll.me to unsubscribe?

We’re heading into week 8 of the One Small Change Challenge! How’s it going so far? So far so good for me, although things are getting hectic up in here. Here’s a week-by-week outline:

  1. Keep kitchen counters clutter free
  2. Drink at least 64 oz water daily
  3. Do a 2 minute daily plank sequence
  4. Drink warm water with lemon every morning**
  5. Plan meals
  6. Get out for a 10-minute or longer decompression walk on non-running days
  7. Do at least 2 burpees daily: Here’s how that went:
  • Tues: 2
  • Wed: 2
  • Thurs: 5
  • Fri: 5×2 sets
  • Sat: 5×1, 8×1
  • Sun: 10
  • Mon: 5 (tapering for turkey trot, just kidding…maybe)

I’m going to call the burpee initiative a success so far. Knowing I don’t have to do more than 2 unless I want to seems to make the additional ones easier somehow. Whatever works, right?

For week 8 I’m going with gratefulness. May be a bit cliche but what better time to be grateful than Thanksgiving and the holiday season? I will ponder gratitude on my 10-minute daily walk…which has been bone chilling cold lately….but who’s complaining?

How about you? Blog about the change you made anytime this week,(or if you chose to hold, that’s perfectly fine too) and link it up below. The more you link, the better your chance of winning at the end of the month.

Last year my New Year’s resolution was to unsubscribe from all of the junk email I get. I’ve done pretty well so far, but I think another purge is in order.

I did some email purging just the other day. I was so sick of exactly what you’re talking about. Just because I ordered a calendar once doesn’t mean that your daily emails will entice me into ordering more.

I’ve purged email subscriptions as well as snail mail catalogs recently. It gets out of control so easily!

Great job on the burpees!!! I played along with you but I wasn’t as fancy -just 5 each day.
I need to unsubscribe – I get so much junk email everyday that I can’t even stand checking it!!!

I’ve started purging the unwanted emails as well, wish it was easier – I’ll have to look into that program.

I clean up my email about once a month. I do try to unsubscribe to things that I’m not using but it still gets overwhelming.

Way to go on the burpees! Two a day is two to many for me!

My email is out of control. I try to unsubscribe and I swear I get 3 emails from them the next day. It’s a never ending battle

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
