Runfessions

January 16, 2014

oats
I may need to revoke my runner’s card for this one but here goes: I had oatmeal yesterday for the first time. Ever. I eat oats all the time in smoothies, pancakes, on yogurt but not hot. Until now. I liked it….but wow is that stuff filling. Had to share a little with the dog. And yes, that’s a Cars themed spoon. Beggars can’t be choosers.

Since the new training cycle started I’m so bone tired by Friday mornings I lay there like a board. Sadly I already felt that way this morning.

Today is my second speed session of the week. Seriously what was my coach smoking?

I love 400m repeats but I’m having confidence issues on doing 8 of them in week 3. Seems rather excessive for a hag, I mean a runner like me.

I’m drawn to this Lulu top like gapers to an accident. Perhaps for a foxhunt?

So come clean: What have you to runfess today?

I love oatmeal for breakfast – but never before a run. My confession is that I almost never do repeats. I’ll do random tempo runs (I don’t schedule them though, that’s just too daunting LOL).

8×400 seems like a lot for week three, to me, too! But you will get through them!

Ha ha. That top is… something else ๐Ÿ˜‰

I used to eat oatmeal when I was little but now I never eat it hot.
My runfession – now that I’ve started doing more runs at a nice slow pace I sort of want to run slower all the time – oops!

Two speed sessions in a week? Impressive. Must be the oats! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love oatmeal! I have been eating so much more to boost my milk supply, so I have to admit that I have been adding some chocolate chips to mine. Oops:)

I hated oatmeal growing up but like it ok now. It’s one of my go-to pre-long ride or run meals, all doctored up with honey, nuts, cranberries, and sunflower seeds and cinnamon.

I just used the incline setting on the gym TM at above 1 for the first time ever last night.

I am not a huge oatmeal fan, but I down it before every long run/race because it just sticks with me awhile. Did I eat some before SR? I can’t even remember. Yay for you for trying it out. And, um, that top at Lulu would make my butt super big. WHAT!?!?!

I’d say your coach was probably smoking a hallucinogenic mushroom when he/she wrote your program. Have fun with that second speed session.

Oh, and my runfession is that I’m a clumsy runner.

I have Tommy Cooper compression leggings that I use when my legs are exhausted & need a little recovery help!
OMG- you seriously NEVER had oatmeal before.
    That’s so wacky!

Is that Lulu top supposed to be for working out? It would be cute as a jacket with jeans or something.

I use to eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast, now I eat bacon :-). My runfession is that I procrastinate most runs as long as I can. Not sure why since I love running.

Oh man, I love oatmeal! It is so good!

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
