February by Number and a Spartan Book

March 2, 2014

Miles: 97. I know, had I only known before it was too late I was that close to a hundo I’d have banged out 3 more. This is my highest mileage month in more than a year though so go me.

icyhill

Runs Outside: 5. Big whoop.

Heavy lifting sessions: 5

Servings of rice pudding: 11 (wish it was 5)

Kombuchas: 12 (the non-fizzy ones shouldn’t count)

Races: 1 But I DNS’d due to extreme cold/wimpiness so the answer is really zero.

wintermiles

Virtual races: 2

Average temp: -60(give or take)

Sub-zero days: Too frozen to keep count

Inches of snow: At least a billion

Minutes of additional daylight since winter solstice: Some but it’s still so cold so who cares?

How did February shake out for you? Did you freeze?

Oh so close to the 100 mile mark. So close that it’s almost cruel.

I need to go google what a Kombucha is.

Oooohhh…so close! I think I got 9 miles in. LOL I got in a couple of virtual races as well. I wonder if they were the same ones.

Haha, I don’t even want to think about how many runs I actually did outside. I know there weren’t any complete runs. Usually, I’d do a few outside with Bungee and then finish on the treadmill. Even then, I could probably count the runs on one hand.

I don’t log my runs (you must think I’m a total slacker) but I looking back I did about 95 miles for February. Most days were outdoors…I think I did 5 indoors. Not that I enjoyed many of those outdoor runs. This winter has been awful. New life strategy? Moving to a warmer climate…ha!

Love that average temperature! It really has to improve, right? Right?!

Well done: ~100. Green with envy here.

I had to shovel 100 times this past week. Does that count? lol

Chris I probably shouldn’t admit this but I’ve been enjoying the shoveling this winter. Snow’s been copious but nice and powdery. Either that or my weight lifting is paying off…

I am just so impressed with you fitness people at baseline, but when you are going above and beyond in the cold…well, I am blown away! :)-Ashley

Marcia — Seek help immediately. I believe that you may be suffering from an acute mental illness. Enjoying shoveling. SICK!

All that cold weather and snow was put to good use skiing, so I’m definitely not complaining.

97 miles is great. And I still don’t think you whimped out on that race – it was just too damn cold!

Awesome monthly mileage!!! -60 is just way too cold to run, I wouldn’t say wimped out, I’d say smart choice!

You had a great month of training – especially considering how brutally cold and snowy it’s been!!
I just know that March has to have a higher average temp!!

This winter has been brutal, I feel so bad for all Northerners.

I don’t know how you do it in that cold weather – frigid weather!!! 🙂
