I have mixed feelings about bathroom scales. I go in spurts where I’ll weigh in everyday for awhile, then ignore the scale entirely. Most of the winter I’ve fallen into the latter category.
You’ve probably heard me moaning about how I look in recent race photos. While I think I’ve got plenty of movement in my day, it’s time to be more mindful of what I’m throwing down the gullet…and more consistent with visiting the scale.
Because the universe always seems to give me exactly what I need, the Weightless Scale from Weight Gurus showed up on my doorstep recently.
It can track your weight the normal way, or be kinder and just show you the amount you’re up or down so ‘that’ number isn’t glaring you in the face.

I have to say this scale is pretty high tech. It works along with a free app I downloaded onto my smart phone. I set up my profile, set weightloss goals, and when I step on the scale, the info. syncs to my phone so I can monitor my progress right from there. Now if it would only zip my mouth shut…or hide the cookies.

    My biggest tip is to make snack bags for easy on the go or last minute. My favs are hard boiled eggs, nuts and, sliced fruit or cubed cheese. Yum!

    My tip would be water, water and more water. Cut out the soda and sugary drinks. Add fruit or cucumbers to your water for flavor.

    I think my best tip would be to make sure there are easy snack and meal options available. I always run into trouble when I limit myself too much especially with my job. I have started keeping Kind bars in my locker and it makes it so much easier to resist the candy temptation.

    If I am home, I want to snack. I have to get out of the house more so I am not tempted to munch. My living room is Way too close to my kitchen.

    It’s kind that it has a no-weight option. Does it also have a lying option for those PMS days when you really can’t cope with hearing the truth?

    This scale sounds insane! yikes! The best way for me is to keep healthy snacks ready so I don’t put anything in my mouth & to stay out of the kitchen!

    preparing your own healthy meals instead of eating out and always drinking water instead of juice or sodas or calorie laden coffee drinks!

    I haven’t been doing a great job on weight management recently (thank you stress and cortisol), but I am trying to focus on lots of veggies with every meal.

    I’ve never been one to diet. The best tip I have for weight management is choosing healthy food options and daily exercise. You don’t have to cut out all of your favorite foods, you just have to be smart about it. Portion control is huge!

    My best tip is to clear out your kitchen/pantry of any unhealthy snacks and replace them with healthier ones — helps cut down on the temptation if the cookies, chips, etc just aren’t available.

    Potion control! That helped me lose 80 lbs. Running helps me stay at a stable weight.

    I have been feeling chunk-a-munk lately, and I want to slim down to get to a “racing” weight. So hard when I love ALL THE CARBS. I’m particularly terrified to get on the scale for fear of damaging my self esteem so this would be great.

    I think tracking food is a great way to stay on track. It can be surprising how much one nibbles during the day.

    I am scared to step on the scale:/ After I lost the weight during my Dietbet challenge, I think it is all back:( I haven’t been great in the eating department. Time for me to get back on track!

    Staying Hydrated is super important, not only is it good for you, but it helps to digest your food and keeps your tummy feel full.

    Best tip is to drink lots of water. I’ve also found that weighing in once per week works for me so that I don’t obsess over numbers.

    I just do my best to eat in moderation and to not focus on my weight too much. I’m much healthier when I don’t think about my weight at all!

    My biggest tip is – write down what you eat. Even if it’s not in a calorie counting app, write it down. You don’t have to show it to anyone else but you do have to be honest with yourself.

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
