V.I.B. Award and a Winner

August 7, 2014

inspiring

Thanks to my home girl Erica over at Erica Finds for tagging me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these so here goes:

1. I’ve lived in 3 countries: Great Britain, Belgium and right here in the Chi-town boonies of course. The Caveman and I moved to the English countryside a month after we were married and I traded my job as a Marketing VP for English dressage. I was known around the stables as the “American Girl”.

2. ย I’m an animal lover and believe they’re a great judge of character. I take note of who they love and who they don’t.

3. I love to run at sunrise in summer.

4. But I also love running on the mill watching Cupcake Wars and Pioneer Woman, although I loathe those caftans she wears. She’d probably say the same about my running skirts.

5. If I didn’t care about my health I’d be eating Betty Crocker vanilla buttercream by the can.

6. I rearrange the dishes in the dishwasher. Every. Damn. Day. But I never complain about it because I’ll take whatever help I can get.

7. Hurricane MIL is coming here for Thanksgiving and the stress is mounting. Already.

That’s it! I’m sure every blogger on the planet has been nominated by now and you all inspire me so if you feel like playing, you are tagged!

Tell me something about you!

CocoaVia Winner! Congrats to Julie Gleissner! Please contact me with your shipping address and your prize will be on its way. Thanks to all who entered and to CocoaVia for sponsoring!

Totally with you on the summer morning sunrises! One thing about me – I’ve only ever lived in one other state – AL for less than a year.

Hurricane MIL: LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! (and I never overuse punctuation!)

I rode Hunter-Jumper growing up. They called me “The Horse Whisperer”. You, Suzy and I should go riding some day. ๐Ÿ™‚

No. 6: So glad that I am not the only one! I keep thinking that one day DH will notice how it *should* look and start doing it that way. HA! My reply to No. 5 is that if it didn’t matter, I’d eat Cool Whip by the TUB.

One thing about me: I dip fries in mayo.

I do that with the dishwasher too. It’s like playing Tetris for me. I can load a dishwasher like nobody else! And everything gets clean, too…LOL!

Yes, sunrises have been beautiful lately. It makes getting up early completely worth it! I am also missing catching up on some of my Netflix t.v. shows on the treadmill. But enjoying the outside is much more important to me at this point…I’ll get caught up over the winter I’m sure.

I literally laughed out loud because I have been know to fall face first into a tub of Betty Crocker too, but I am a cream cheese frosting girl.

I didn’t know you had lived in Begium. We have friends who spent about 3 years there and they visited so many places and countries while they were there!!

When we moved, the dishwasher did not. ๐Ÿ™
Sometimes I make the boys wash dishes and then I rewash half of them.
Thanks for the laughs! We might go out for Thanksgiving this year ๐Ÿ™‚

The best thing about my MIL is that she is unmedicated crazy and therefore cannot travel. When we decide to visit them (once or twice a year), my heart rate goes up immediately. My husband doesn’t handle it much better. It is amazing that he can tie his shoes in the morning, given all craziness when he was growing up.

Oh, my! That’s a lot of stress. We just entered August.

Small children are a good judge too. When Ryan was little I dated a guy that she disliked. She would take her trike and ram him in the shins with it. She was totally right.

if weight and health didn’t matter, i would have dessert 3 times a day. Maybe that will get you through thanksgiving!?!?

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
