Fit a #WeirdWorkout Into Your Busy Day and Win!

August 22, 2016

Special thanks to Prana and Organic Valley for sponsoring this #weirdworkout discussion.ย

It’s a chaotic time of year for many of us. The change of season, less daylight, back to school, etc. can all make getting in our usual workouts a challenge. Remember though, all movement is fair game when it comes to exercise. While you may not be making it to the gym for your usual spin class or standing date with the weights, there’s SO much you can work into your busy day.

Anyone up for some “doga”?

  • Get out in the fresh air and play with your kids.
  • Do intervals of calisthenics while you’re out walking the dog.
  • Take the stairs as you move your kids into their new dorm.

I wish I had a puppy to workout with! I’ll have to borrow my neighbors sometime lol. Also I know fall is basically here but for some reason I forgot that meant shorter daylight. Bleh ha

I don’t have a dog but if I did I would love to workout with it! I do sometimes have dogs chasing me when I’m on my bike…does that count? ๐Ÿ˜€

What a fun challenge! I’ve heard of all kinds of weird workouts – one that stands out in my mind is cat-flexing (using your cat for weight during strength-training). It’ll be really interesting to see what people come up with!!!

what a fun challenge! taking the stairs while moving a kid into a dorm sounds horrible though lol. my friends are always like, “how do you run marathons but cant go up stairs without getting winded??” Legit makes me huff and puff haha

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
