Holiday Gifts For Runners

November 14, 2016

Can you believe the holidays are right around the corner? Have you heard certain brands already sharing their black Friday deals? That’s our cue to talk all about runner gifts this week on Tuesdays on the Run.

holiday-gift-guide-for-runners

Gift ideas? I’ve got a few. You may wanna pay attention because I just might be giving some of these goodies away so stay tuned:

fall-running-essentials-skins

Skins Tights. Every runner needs a great pair of tights. Like a classic cashmere sweater you’ll have forever, good tights are worth the investment. I can’t say enough good about my Skins tights. I reviewed them here. Since the weather has cooled I find myself reaching for them constantly. Save 20% on all full price Skins items with code HEALTHYSLICE-20. Offer expires 11/20/16.

RunLites - Pink Half Gloves

RunLites. I just mentioned these the other day in my fall running essentials post. They’re awesome. Runners need them. End of story.

rocknblog2016code

Race Entry: Lots of runners like to race now and again, and we like our bling. So how about a RocknRoll Series race entry, or better yet a Global Tour Pass? There are races literally all over the world and the bling is some of the best out there.

Airfare. Runners like to run. We like to run in all kinds of crazy, nutbag places, the weirder and more far-flung the better. So if you wanna spill for some airfare, we are all. over. that. Racecation anyone?

pack-it-fitness-locker

Racecation Luggage/Organizers. You may have noticed I did my share of traveling this year. I used the Pack-It Fitness Locker and Shoe Locker from Eagle Creek for all of my trips. I love how convenient it is to keep my race-day stuff separate and easy to find on those stressful early mornings.

goodr

Goodr Running Sunglasses. Goodr is a fun new brand with great styles and refreshing colors. The best part? They won’t break the bank. Just $25 gets you a stylish pair of glasses so you won’t care (too much) when the dog chews them up, if you know what I’m saying.

Legend Compression

Compression Socks. I like Legend Compression so much I became an ambassador. They’re snug enough to keep your legs and feet feeling fresh but not so tight they strangle you. The compression socks come in all sorts of fun colors. There’s also a recovery sock that is indescribably fabulous. Seriously the entire Democratic Party should get them to ease the pain. The fabric is thicker in the footular(tech term) area so it’s like getting a foot rub. All the time. You read that right: A perpetual foot rub. I’ve got mine on right now. Use this code to save $15.

spandits-collage-2

Spandits: Who doesn’t love fun colors and patterns? Spandits is my go-to brand for colorful shorts, tights and every length in between. I swear by Boardies all summer then gradually work my way to thermal tights in the dead of winter. SPANDITSLOVE saves you 10% off your first order.

headsweats-reflective-hat

Headsweats. Simply the best hats, visors and headbands out there. TEAMARCIA saves you 25%.

now-essential-oils

now-diffuser

Essentials Oils and Diffuser. Last but not least, runners need to relax. Rest is part of recovery, right? I adore these essential oil sets and diffuser from NOW Foods. Whether you prefer energizing, calming, balancing or even romantic scents, there’s a set perfect for you.

What’s on your gift list this year? Have you started/finished your shopping?

When my family asks me for gift ideas and I say money for race entries or airfare, they look at me like I am nuts. They don’t understand the life of a runner lol

    November 15, 2016 at 4:20 am

This post definitely gave me some ideas of what to ask for for the holidays. However, I just can’t wrap my head around how quickly that time of year is approaching!

Seriously, lemme get through thanksgiving first! Although I might just write about gifts in a later post this week. Or maybe next week. I’ve got a lot of race recapping to do!

I’ll have to check out the legend compression.

I need a new pair of winter running gloves. Because I can’t run in a Chicago winter (or any winter, really) with ONE GLOVE.

Hmmm….maybe I should buy those Goodr sunglasses! I wonder what color Cocoa would like to try?

I love my eagle creek accessories. They seriously make packing so much easier.

Oh I love these posts. I always like seeing running products to add to my list for the holidays. That packet is pretty nifty. I always use a plastic bag.

Gift cards are good too. If I have my eye on a shirt, I’ll ask for gift cards so I can go to the store and try stuff on. Shopping can be just as fun as Christmas morning.

  9. Michelle @ Lively Chicken says

    November 15, 2016 at 8:07 am

I could definitely use a good pair of running tights and some good sunglasses. Both will be on my Christmas list!

  10. Darlene says

Yes on all. Esp airfare and race entries. I’d like to check out legend compression. I do need more socks and gloves

The diffuser and essential oils is a nice touch! I hadn’t thought of that as associated with runners and gifts, but when I stayed in Orlando for the runDisney expo the girl I stayed with had one and it was definitely very relaxing falling asleep with the lavender scent!

  13. alexandra @ my urban family says

    November 15, 2016 at 11:19 am

I love that you added a relaxing element to the gift guide!

For winter running I wear full arctic expedition type mittens that are rated for below zero temps. That way, I never have to worry about cold digits on a run. If it they get too warm I can always stuff them in my jacket until my fingers get cold. I buy ones with removable liners so I can wash them.

I think I’m going to put a RnR Global Tour pass on my list!! I wont’ get it, but it would be the best gift ever.

Great choices! I love the idea of race-cations- airline dollars go a long way! The essential oils and diffuser looks super nice too! 🙂 BTW- I haven’t started shopping yet!

  25. Sharon says

Eagle Creek has made packing my running gear so much easier!! Ah race entries or money for airfare would be the perfect present for me especially if I want to do Vegas again next year! 😉

  26. Jill Conyers says

    November 16, 2016 at 4:02 pm

Great gift ideas. I love love my diffuser and oils and several people on my list will be getting them for Christmas.

  27. Karen @ Fit in France says

    November 16, 2016 at 5:15 pm

OMG I haven’t even started thinking about Christmas yet. I just need to get through this week. Being gone for 10 days at a very busy time has thrown me for a loop !

And in the US I bought several running things…. just can’t resist. It is addictive. So I really don’t need anything for the holidays.

  28. Emily @ Out and About says

    November 17, 2016 at 11:13 am

This is a terrific list! YES on the race entry fees and anything that can help defray the cost of traveling to racecations. I’ve never tried Spandits but yours always look so adorable! I love all the colors!!!

  29. The Accidental Marathoner says

    November 17, 2016 at 4:24 pm

These are all such awesome ideas! I’m fairly new to running, and with Christmas around the corner, my (young adult) kids are starting to ask what I would like…I’m definitely going to share your ideas! My birthday was last month, and all I received as gifts was running gear! I LOVE the idea of race entries…it can get pretty pricey!

  30. Michelle @ Running with Attitude says

    November 17, 2016 at 6:48 pm

Aren’t those Pack Its the best?! And so many yeses to the idea of race entries as gifts! I swear races ought to offer gift cards!

I have a pair of the winter run lights coming soon. I can’t wait to try them out!
