How to Create an Affordable At-Home Wellness Sanctuary

July 20, 2017

Special thanks to Groupon for sponsoring this discussion. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Confession: I kind of suck at body care. By body care I mean taking the time to schedule a massage, facial, or other type of spa service. Even mani/pedis are few and far between. I know massages would be beneficial for running and yet I rarely go. Give me a gadget I can use at home though and I’m all over it, plus it’s a heck of a lot less expensive and more convenient than constantly booking appointments.

The best part? You can save money putting your home wellness sanctuary together when you use Groupon. There are Groupon discounts at a wide spectrum of retailers around the country, including Kohls, Nike, Nordstrom and Home Depot and I’m not even scratching the surface.

Here are some great items that would be perfect additions to consider as you put together your own home wellness sanctuary. All of these products are available on Amazon so you know you’re already getting a good price and most likely fast, free shipping.

Using Groupon discount codes makes the prices even lower. Who doesn’t love that? Your mind, body, spirit and wallet will thank you!

1. Naturalico Shiatsu Massager. My upper back and shoulders are notoriously tight and this massager is a little piece of heaven. Kneading shiatsu pressure combined with warm, comforting heat penetrate deep into muscles to release tension, stress and pain. I originally bought one for my mom and when I saw how much she loved hers, I had to get one for myself as well.

2. Miko Shiatsu Foot Massager. As a runner, you know I had to go right to the feet, right? There’s nothing I love more than a good foot rub. This massager relieves overworked feet with deep kneading, gentle vibration, rolling and heat.

3. Spin Spa Body Brush. This long handle brush soothes tired muscles and rejuvenates skin. Fill it with soap or body wash of your choice. Five attachments including massage, microderm, brush, cleansing head and pumice give your body the head-to-toe TLC it deserves.

4. NOW Foods Aromatherapy Sampler Pack. Use these essential oils in a diffuser for aromatherapy. Set includes lavender, clove, orange, eucalyptus, tangerine, tea tree, jasmine, citronella, peppermint and rosemary.

5. Peace Yoga Zafu Meditation Pillow.  This buckwheat-hull-filled pillow cushions your body from hard floors, relieves stress on joints and supports your spine. Also doubles as a yoga block.

I do love a good Groupon! I book most of my massage treatments that way & once I have paid for it well then there is motivation to use the Groupon! I need to add the diffuser to my new oil collection 🙂 TGIF!

I haven’t given Groupon a second thought for years, but when Pete said he got his RnR entry on Groupon, I thought hmmmm! And now this! Heading over to check it out. Thanks!

I used to check Groupons but not in years.

I am very lax about self-care. I have NEVER even gotten a massage or been to a chiropractor. And honestly even if I bought those gadgets, I probably wouldn’t use them.

I’m sitting in my foot/calf massager right now!
I only used Groupon to buy an Earthbox subscription for a gift. I need to remember it exists!

I love NOW’s essential oils. Finding a relaxing space at home is so important, too.

I love doing self-care at home. I have so many massagers and I do tend to use them weekly.
I’m a HUGE fan of Groupon! I mainly use it to get deals on restaurants in the area, but i’ll definitely take a look at the products now as well!

I personally LOVE a good massage. If I could, I’d get one once a week for self care!

I’ve used Groupon for a lot of stuff but never for self care. Maybe I ought to!

I’m very late to the party concerning Groupon….I need to check it out. Thanks for the call to action!

I signed up for Groupon emails but think I only used one once! I don’t have any sanctuary space at home … hmmm…

I’ve recently loaded up on 101 face masks and lotions!

Those massagers look great, wish I’d thought to get one for my dad, he probably would have loved one too. We have a bunch of massage tools around here, most but not all non-electric. Can always use one more!

What a great idea! I so want one of the calf/foot massagers from Brookstone – it’s on my Christmas list!

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
