Black Friday Runfessions

November 26, 2020

Welcome to a special Black Friday edition of the Runfession Friday Linkup. It no longer matters if Costco’s been selling Christmas stuff since September. It is now OFFICIALLY the holiday season. Before partaking of any holiday shopping though, it would do a body good to step into the Runfessional. I’ll start.

We’ve all sent texts to the wrong person, right? Like the time I texted my Starbucks order to one of the people I work for. Or the time I asked my daughter’s flute parents group chat if they wanted chicken on the grill. You’ve done this, right? RIGHT? Tell me I’m not alone.

I runfess, sending texts pales in comparison to this next runfession.

In a multi-tasking frenzy recently, I runfess I posted what I thought was a group text to family members as a comment on someone’s Instagram post. Clearly my mind has left the building.

After complaining to you about The Pioneer Woman’s super unhealthy meals here, it would be logical if I stopped watching her show. I runfess that is not the case. I tuned into another episode where she made fried chicken pizza, ice cream sundae cake and battered, fried, mac n cheese-stuffed peppers. It’s all so gross and yet, I watch. It’s like not being able to look away from an accident.

You know I’ve been running trails pretty much for every single run except for track day. Well just the other day, I runfess I realized there’s a Trail Running setting on my Garmin. Who knew?? Does one really need a trail running setting?

I runfess YouTube has frustrated me to no end lately. I suppose that’s no excuse for being as sloppy with my videos as I have. On a recent one, I realized only after posting it that Thing 2’s flute practice can be heard in the background. So is a certain barking dog who shall remain nameless.

It’s Black Friday and the Runfession Friday Linkup is open! Stop by and join us! #runfessions #runchat #running

    Trail running setting? Who knew?

Yes I have texted to the wrong persons. Too many times to mention.

Nope…no shopping tomorrow. I have to work and I’ve been shopping for myself too much lately.

Yep, I’ve replied to a text on the wrong thread. I’ve also been on the receiving end of some pretty funny mis-sent texts, too.

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I wonder what Garmin does differently if you choose a trail run? I tend to mix up text messages and Messenger — luckily I haven’t done anything too embarrassing. It may officially be holiday shopping season, but I’m not ready yet!

Say no more! I have sent more tests (accidentally) to the wrong party than I care to remember. I’ll have the correct person cued up, but somehow the text goes elsewhere and I’m unaware until AFTER it’s over and done. Honestly, I’m looking forward to a day in comfy clothes (after a short run) and plenty of Hawkeye sports to entertain me (football AND basketball!). I may or may not peruse online shopping…

Haha, I keep on watching “Somebody Feed Phil” on Netflix. Where Phil goes around eating yummy, but unhealthy food. I can’t taste it, smell it or eat it. I don’t even know why I’m doing this to myself.
Enjoy a low-key and relaxing Black Friday!

I have to laugh because I just did the wrong text thing to my son this week. Lisa and I were chatting about edibles and somehow I sent my response to him. To which he sent a very funny response…

I’m up early because I’m working today. You know healthcare never stops! Thanks for the runfessional…

My most recent video, where I thought I took such care with my hair, has a piece sticking out and it looks so totally weird. Video is like the bane of my existence, I could go on & on, but I actually love sharing my videos (if I could just reach more people, LOL!).

I have sent a few texts to the wrong person, but luckily nothing embarrassing so far. I was the recipient of a wrong text not too long ago — not embarrassing, but a little bit hurtful. I struggled with whether or not to let the person know, but I never did. Not sure they ever figured out that the text went awry.

Mr. Judy is the one addicted to cooking shows. Of course all of it unhealthy. At least I have turned him on to skinnytaste.com.

I have totally sent the wrong text to the wrong person – luckily it was nothing too embarrassing!

I’m off work today but still up early and trying to talk myself into doing a workout before decorating the house for Christmas.

There was a whole Curb your enthusiasm episode where Larry was “accidentally texting” but on purpose to get people to do things he wanted. Really funny! It’s kind of a joke bc I accidentally texted my hubs last year about how much our painter wanted to charge for something and that I thought it was too high but I really sent it to the guy! Anyway he lowered the price ha so maybe it works! Thanks for the Runfessions

Not too much shopping, here. I may do an Amazon order, but we don’t need anything.

So, I don’t think I had ever watched the Pioneer Woman show. I make three recipes from her: a french toast pita chip casserole and crash hot potatoes, neither of which are particularly unhealthy, and cinnamon rolls, which… are cinnamon rolls, so…

Anyway, she made a pasta bake for her kids, and that didn’t look too awful (no worse than a ziti or lasagna). She’s still hard to watch, though.

We’ve all got our own version of “The Pioneer Woman”…mine are Married at First Sight and Mama June From Not to Hot…I have no defense, no excuses, and no apologies for watching these shows…can’t look away/won’t look away.

I have had a couple of texting mishaps lately – a definite reminder I need to give up multitasking! LOL!

Now I’m curious what the trail running feature on Garmin does? I hope you’ll try it and share.

Ha!!! I am so glad I’m not the only one who posts texts to the wrong place. I haven’t done any really embarrassing ones. Yet! 🙂 I have never watched Pioneer Woman. I have made her applesauce, though. I use bout half the sugar she calls for.

I’ve sent and received a wrong text a few times. I don’t really watch the Pioneer Woman…her perpetual smile kind of annoys me for some reason. Sometimes it’s on in the breakroom at work so I have noticed she never makes anything remotely healthy or low-cal.
