Here we are in the dog days of summer. September is almost here and the Runfessional is Open.
The August Runfessional is Open
I say on repeat that I never want to wish summer away. This summer however, has been the rainiest, stormiest on record for this area. I runfess that I’ve turned the corner and am officially all in for fall.
Given how crappy (technical term) our summer weather has been, I runfess I am grateful I am not training for anything. Managing heat and storms and smoke is no joke to say the least. Mega treadmill miles are no picnic either.

College drop-off happened last week. Because Daughter #2 kept her apartment from last year, move-in was easy peasy. She has just 3 semesters left until graduation. I runfess it went fast, as I knew it would. Time keeps flying away. Bella, the new “apartment dog” is making college extra fun this year…at least so far.
Now that some cooler weather is hopefully in our near future, I runfess that my hip is feeling so good, that I am tempted to give a little running a try. My bionic hip won’t turn one year old until the end of January, but I suspect she may be up to the task. Should I press my luck? While in Blacksburg, I really, REALLY wanted to take a spin around the Duck Pond in my running shoes. I runfess I refrained.
Since returning from Zion National Park back in July, my feed has been filled with monsoon rains and terrifying flash floods there. I runfess I had no idea when we booked the trip that there was a rainy season. I also runfess that I feel oh so lucky that we had perfect weather and minimal crowds. Because we were there the week BEFORE the Fourth of July weekend, it was pretty empty. The park was definitely filling up when we rolled out on July 3.
Okay your turn: What have you to runfess? Are you all in for fall? Or still savoring summer?
