How Do You Choose a Race?

July 4, 2016

This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is How Do You Choose Your Races. Do you have a system? A budget? A goal of how many you wanna do? Share your thought process! I guess I’m most selective when it comes to full marathons (duh). Those typically get on the schedule first. Since completing the [Read More]

Crying In My Coffee

July 1, 2016

I’m not so sure I like the idea of it being July already but it is time for the Ultimate Coffee Date with Coco, Deb and Lynda so pull up a chair and I’ll get you a cup. If we were having coffee, I’d most likely lose my sh!% because we had to lay one [Read More]

5 Amazing Things to Do for Yourself This Summer

June 30, 2016

We’ve had a gorgeous summer here so far. Alas it slips away all too quickly. Sometimes there’s so much we want to do/go/see with family and friends, we don’t take the time to truly relax and care for ourselves. Here are some small, simple things that add up to a more pleasant, less stressed season. [Read More]

What’s Your Number?

June 27, 2016

We’re talking about your number as in how many races you like to run. That’s the question of this week’s edition of Tuesdays on the Run. According to my Instagram feed, many of you are chronic racers. Marathon and Half Marathon Maniacs. Runners on a mission. Maybe it’s a PR, racing the states, or completing [Read More]

Training Around Summer Fun

June 27, 2016

Before I get to the rest of the summer fun, here’s how my training went this week: Monday: Swim Tuesday: Run 6 Miles Wednesday: Strength, Swim Thursday: Speedwork 3 Miles Friday: Swim Saturday: Run 10 Miles Sunday: Strength, massive gardening (I’m counting it) This was one of those weekends that requires a few extra days just [Read More]

June 23, 2016

Tell me how it can be the final Friday of June already, will you? Sigh, time flies. It’s time to open the runfessional and spill all the transgressions of the month so we can head into July footloose and fancy free. Let’s get started, shall we? It’s Runfession Friday and we’re waiting to hear yours! [Read More]

Summertime Favorites

June 22, 2016

Ahhhh. Sweet summertime how I’ve missed your long, sunny days and warm temps. School’s out, my tri is over, marathon training is fast approaching and the living is easy. What better time to share some of my summertime favorites: Easy dresses. Although I started my career (back in the stone-age) in the fashion industry working [Read More]

Weird Things Spotted on the Run

June 20, 2016

Weird stuff. That’s what we’re talking about this week on the Tuesdays on the Run Linkup. This time it’s odd things you see or that happen at races or when you’re out running. There’s plenty of weird to go around, isn’t there? There are all sorts of odd costumes seen at races. A certain Eiffel [Read More]

Espirit de She Triathlon Race Report

June 15, 2016

This was my second time doing the Espirit de She sprint triathlon. Read last year’s adventure here. I am an Espirit de She Race Series Ambassador and Founding Finisher since 2013. After a steamy 100-degree the day before, tri day dawned cooler and clear, albeit on the windy side. I was up and restless 30 [Read More]

Found Along the Road

June 13, 2016

This week on Tuesdays on the Run we’re talking about the road. Maybe the roadside where you run, maybe in the actual road. We wanna know the weird stuff you find there when you’re out logging some miles. Personally I run on busy roadsides (where you find the most “interesting” things) as little as possible [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
