Thinking Out Loud: Loving/Not Loving

September 17, 2015

If only my pose of the dancer looked half that good. (source) Loving: I finally FINALLY got the black & white striped capris from Athleta I’ve been obsessed with. If you recall, I ordered them eons ago but got the black/grey striped ones in error….which I love and kept (of course I did) but could [Read More]

5 Benefits of Heart Rate Training

September 8, 2015

Let’s talk about heart rate training. This is something I knew about but never really bothered with. I ran by feel. I also often went out way too fast in races and struggled miserably in heat. This summer has been different. Why? Because I’ve been wearing a heart rate monitor. I have my triathlon coach [Read More]

Stay Healthy, Train Healthy with Zarbee’s Naturals

September 1, 2015

Special thanks to Zarbee’s and Target for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own.  We’re barely 3 weeks into the new school year here. The 4th grade lice alert has already arrived home and today Thing 2 is coughing with a runny nose. Oh the petri dish that is school. [Read More]

June 18, 2015

After months of training and hard work, you’ve crossed the finish line. Congratulations. But now what? With the thrill/exhaustion of the [Read More]

To celebrate National Running Day, I’m giving away a running and fitness gadget that I’m super loving right now: The Wahoo Fitness TICKR X. I told you about the Wahoo Fitness TICKR X before and how cool it is. It’s a heart rate monitor and so much more. Wear the strap up, around your rib [Read More]

Runner/Cyclist Safety and a Giveaway

May 28, 2015

The other day I was out riding my bike along the shoulder of a not-very-busy road when an SUV passed me. Maybe 100 ft. beyond me though, that SUV drifted over onto the shoulder, over the 3 ft of gravel and finally into the grass before finally veering back onto the road. Distracted driver? On [Read More]

Eating Smart is Easy with Orange Chef Countertop

May 19, 2015

This post is sponsored by Sweatpink on behalf of Orange Chef. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own. Post contains affiliate links.  Truth be told, I love to cook, but I’m not the best meal planner that ever lived. Too many times I’m caught ravenous after a workout and haven’t given any thought [Read More]

In Praise of a 7 Minute Workout

May 6, 2015

Gosh our weather yesterday was nasty. As warm and beautiful as it was over the weekend? That’s how rainy and raw it was. I had cycling on tap for my tri training. As soon as I got the kids off to school, I headed to the gym for a spin class. Except traffic was obscene. [Read More]

#NOWgetfit Immersion and Giveaway

May 4, 2015

By the way I’ve carried on over on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, you probably already know I went on a blog “field trip” last week that was all kinds of awesome. I, and some of my fellow Fitfluential Ambassadors, were invited to NOW Foods, in Bloomingdale, IL, for an immersion event. That’s code for we [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
