Fun with Airia One

June 18, 2014

Hump Day! I’m halfway thru my stint of single parenting one child as the Caveman is off on business and Thing 1 is away with her grandparents. Not getting outside to run/bike or to the gym hasn’t been the greatest but, truth be told, it’s pretty steamy here this week and the mill is a [Read More]

Exercising with Your Dog and a Giveaway #lightandhealthy

June 10, 2014

Runners with dogs know how great it is to run with a canine counterpart. When our dogs were younger, the vet told us that even though they’re not considered a “running breed”, Bichons could be trained to run up to five miles. Well Carlo pretty much doesn’t run unless he’s chasing a squirrel… …but Remy [Read More]

June Rave Party

June 7, 2014

It’s ice show weekend here, so while I’m immersed in all things figure skating,  I’m going to take the bull by the horns and share the stuff I’m digging right now. Let’s get this party started: Tribe Sports: Every runner needs some good go-to pieces in their running wardrobe, and this tee and capris sent [Read More]

National Running Day Giveaway

June 3, 2014

What better way to celebrate National Running Day than with a free race? This one looks fun too. The Hit and Run 5k is an exciting obstacle race for ages 10 and up. Obstacles are challenging but not hard. You’ll splash, bounce, flip, flop and catapult yourself to a triumphant finish. Runners are welcome to [Read More]

#FuelYourBetter with Vega Sport Protein Bars

May 15, 2014

Disclosure: I received Vega Sport Protein Bars in exchange for my honest review as part of the Fuel Your Better campaign by Vega Sport and Fit Approach. All opinions are my own. You may remember the rude awakening I had last month at the Lincoln Presidential Half. Someone, who shall remain nameless, convinced me to stray from [Read More]

Discovering Essential Oils and a Giveaway

May 7, 2014

I’ve dabbled with essential oils for years. Mostly spritzing lavender on pillows to soothe and encourage the sleep process for cranky babies and cavemen. I also picked up some grapefruit oil, simply because I found the scent pleasant and energizing. Recently, while I was amping up mileage for the Flying Pig 3-way, my coach suggested [Read More]

Stuff I Love: Racing Edition

May 1, 2014

I know I’ve been harping on the Flying Pig weekend thing for like forever. I’m finally leaving…well tomorrow I am. I’m packing…sort of…well the Garmin isn’t charged and I don’t know what I’m wearing yet…but here’s some stuff I KNOW I’m bringing: Car Snacks. Um yeah, it’s a 6-hour drive each way. What? A complimentary [Read More]

A Kinder, Gentler Giveaway

April 28, 2014

I have mixed feelings about bathroom scales. I go in spurts where I’ll weigh in everyday for awhile, then ignore the scale entirely. Most of the winter I’ve fallen into the latter category. You’ve probably heard me moaning about how I look in recent race photos. While I think I’ve got plenty of movement in [Read More]

Apera Bag Review and Giveaway

April 16, 2014

It’s been a tough winter. While I survived, barely, I’m sorry to say my gym bag bit the dust. It was too worn out to go on. The salt stains were the last straw. Truth is I never really loved it anyway. It wasn’t big enough (twss). Especially if I wanted to workout AND swim [Read More]

A Peek Inside Bestowed Box

April 3, 2014

The latest Bestowed Box is all about boosting a winter-weary immune system. So many favorites in here plus a couple of new to me items as well. Plus let’s not forget Easter is fast approaching and Mother’s Day is around the corner. I’m always looking for healthy gift ideas. Reed’s Ginger Chews: I had to [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
