Colorado Part II

August 18, 2010

After the race we headed to Morrison to meet my friend Geri for some Mexican food and margaritas. Geri, Jill and I all ran Boston in 2009. Amazing how the stomach that protested all night and through 6 miles of the race could now handle a spinach enchilada and Margarita with ease. Hmmmm… It was [Read More]

Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon Race Report

August 16, 2010

It was beyond wonderful to escape the heat and humidity and head for Colorado last week to run the Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon. The perfect antidote for this slumping, overheated runner. After extensive research on portable oxygen tanks, I settled on this number…but reconsidered when I thought of the hassle I’d have getting [Read More]

How to Overcome a Running Slump

August 11, 2010

As you may know, I am in the midst of the great running slump of 2010. A funk. Blame it on the heat, humidity, vacations, family obligations, illness, stress, injury, there’s a laundry list of possibilities. Many of you are right there with me, cursing the heat and slogging through the miles. After sitting here [Read More]

No Caveman, no kiddos. Just me, my running shoes, bike, car keys, etc. you know the important stuff. What did [Read More]

Speaking of Shoes…

July 17, 2010

I mentioned awhile back we joined a new uber gym. They had us at the pool with its full complement of  water slides, zero depth area and snack bar. Hello summer!   Once I overcame my intimidation and studied a map sufficiently to navigate my way around the 3-story uber gym complex complete with platoons [Read More]

Show Me Your Race Medals

July 16, 2010

Marlene showed us her race medals this morning and asked to see ours in return. Although I’ve been meaning to erect a shrine in our workout room, somehow that hasn’t quite happened yet, and my bling resides in a humble cardboard box. For your viewing pleasure: There are 5 marathon medals and 6 1/2 marathon [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
