My Fall Race Calendar

August 29, 2016

Let’s distract ourselves from the fact that we’re marinating in stifling humidity by talking about fall. Specifically fall races. You know, the ones where there’s a chill in the air and the foliage is vibrant. This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is exactly that: We wanna know what you’ve got up your sleeve this [Read More]

Somebody Stop This Humidity Already!

August 28, 2016

Now that the kids have been in school a full 2 weeks, I’d hoped things would settle into some sort of routine. Um, not so much. Chaos continues to reign. Before I get into that, here’s how my workouts played out: Monday: Yoga Tuesday: Run 6 miles Wednesday: Strength & Core Thursday: 6x800m repeats Friday: Rest [Read More]

Runfessions, Obsessions, It’s All Good

August 25, 2016

I say it every month, but seriously HOW can we be heading into September already?? Time waits for no one and just like that, it’s time for another edition of the Runfession Friday linkup. Let’s get this party started! I may have become too emotionally attached to my garden, namely my pumpkins. If you’ve ever [Read More]

What to Do with Race Memorabilia?

August 22, 2016

This week our Tuesdays on the Run Linkup topic is Race Memorabilia. We’re talking about bibs, medals, finisher certificates, heat sheets, everything you might get at a race. Tell us about your faves, the weird ones you’ve gotten and what you do with them. Are you a collector who saves them for posterity? A saver [Read More]

Fit a #WeirdWorkout Into Your Busy Day and Win!

August 22, 2016

Special thanks to Prana and Organic Valley for sponsoring this #weirdworkout discussion.  It’s a chaotic time of year for many of us. The change of season, less daylight, back to school, etc. can all make getting in our usual workouts a challenge. Remember though, all movement is fair game when it comes to exercise. While [Read More]

On the Fence

August 21, 2016

This week I officially put myself “on the fence” about this whole fall marathon thing. Blame the heat, travels to Ireland, lackluster training and plenty of distractions and doubts are creeping in. Running the half in Indianapolis would be so much easier. But would I ever forgive myself if I flake? Here’s how my workouts [Read More]

Loving/Not Loving and Designer Ice

August 19, 2016

Summer’s on the downswing, kids are back in school here and it’s been awhile since I shared what I’m loving and not loving, so let’s get to it, shall we? Not Loving that it’s still hot as balls. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for summer. But this 96% humidity jazz makes marathon training no [Read More]

Who’s Up for a #SparklingDetox?

August 17, 2016

As much as I love summer and the long, hot days, it’s time to buckle down a bit. Too much sun, sand and chlorine and too little sleep takes a toll. My daily ice cream habit (among other treats) adds up too. I’d like to head into fall energized and refreshed, so I’m partnering with [Read More]

RocknRoll Dublin Half Marathon

August 15, 2016

This week’s Tuesdays on the Run topic is Race selfies and Photobombs. I’m going to divert a bit from that topic today because I’ve got more RnRDublin goodness to share with you. When I left off, we’d just (barely) finished the 5k, received our medals and race packets (bassackwards). If you missed it, find out [Read More]

How I’m Letting Go of Fear and Living Bold

August 15, 2016

There was a time when I spent years in a dead-end job I loathed. I put that job before my own happiness and fulfillment because I feared the unknowns if I left. Would I find another job? Could I make ends meet? Once I summoned the courage to make a career change, things were exponentially [Read More]

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
