Therapy Thursday

February 18, 2010

I wish I had better news to share but I don’t. I tried to run yesterday but had to bail to the bike after just 2 miles because the darn achilles did not cooperate. Later it swelled back up and I was limping. I have a call in to my sports doc who worked miracles on  my hammy last year. Let’s see what he can do.

When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping. That’s right some retail therapy was in order don’t you think? Let’s just say there’s a new running skirt in my life. And some headbands…oh and a new hairdo. I left the salon feeling like Cindy Crawford but now I’m thinking I look more like The Karate Kid.

I got home to find these bad girls on my doorstep. Isn’t the timing impeccable? Guess I can use them as a house slipper. I’d call them Bachelor #2 but they don’t seem terribly ‘male’. I love the pink–total hotness. Pay no attention to the gaudy fleece sock. I live in the tundra and won’t shed my fleece layer for at least another month or two.

I know this whole injury thing is just another test of my will. I will get through it. I may be working the expo and/or a water station in Boston this year in my new skirt rather than actually running, but I will be there.

I don’t go down easily.

Lovin' the fleece socks. Ha ha! The shoes, however, are beautiful. Love 'em! I decided my next new pair of runners must have pink in them somewhere.

Also, I have a feeling you looking nothing like the karate kid.

Retail therapy is the best! Well, maybe second best to the "food is love" therapy I've been embarking on lately. No, retail therapy is definitely better. Less bloating.
