Odds and Ends

April 7, 2010

The Aftermath
Easter was great. Afterward not so much. PB eggs are probably not the best taper food. Easter grass isn’t the easiest thing to cleanup, especially after slogging running 20 miles. I found this mess in Thing 2’s room. What I failed to capture for posterity was the dogs furiously chewing as many jelly eggs as possible with eyes rolled back in ecstasy.

In My Dreams
The weird Boston dreams are coming regularly now. In my most recent one we could choose to ‘run’ the race digitally (which of course I did) by pressing a button on my IPod as fast as I could. I worked that IPod maniacally and was on par for a 3:35 finish. Alas my ‘actual’ time turned out to be 6 hours. Let’s hope none of that comes true.

In My Dreams, At Least For Now
I’ve never had the privilege of a running coach and thus far I’ve pieced together or followed generic training plans. I’ve always wondered what it would be like (and how good I could be) if I attended a running camp. If July wasn’t so darn tied up with family obligations (and I finally scored a lottery win), I’d so be heading to scenic Vermont for a weeks’ stay at WeRun2Win’s Peak Performance Adult Running Camp.

Enjoy a week-long camp experience with a constellation of elite running coaches who will devise a 4-month personalized training plan based on your specific goals and requirements.

Kids, if you participate in this camp, please tell them I sent you as they’ll donate to my charity, The Lupus Foundation of America. As you know I’m grateful for all the support I can get.
If you have any questions, feel free to email WeRun2Win at www.bonetteproductions@gmail.com.

Digital racing, heh? That's an idea. Hmmm. ๐Ÿ™‚
I agree with the Easter grass mess. I am still finding some from last year scattered throughout the house.

Enjoy your taper. Enjoy your weird dreams (I think your mind is just trying to blow off some stress there). Enjoy the experience!

    Ahahaha, hilarious dream!

I used to be so good at this game on Nintendo Wii where I had to pound this one button as fast as I could. I think it was called Pokey Pummel. I'd rock at that kind of marathon.

The digital racing dream is just too funny. We still have easter grass all over the house . . . it just won't disappear.

Don't you love the way dreams play tricks on us? Okay, maybe not this time…
A digital race? You could be onto something….

The aftermath of Easter is never good here either! I usually find random plastic egg halves for weeks after! Ha ha.

Love your dream about running by pushing a button on your ipod….soooo funny!

I chuckled at your dream. that's funny

For me, I've found my coach takes the guessing/questioning/scheduling out of my day and mind.
And I equate the cost of a coach to a new hot jeans/outfit for the month.

Ha, ha…I loved the comment you left for me, the "B" word. I'm guilty! Running camp sounds like fun! I loved your post-Easter fun picture. I remember those mornings!

I hate those weird race dreams – they're so unsettling. One night I had 3! In each of them I was late but for different reasons and in one I had to run with no shoes. Funny what your brain conjures up when you're unconscious

I wanna go to camp!! Hmmm…I wonder if the hubbs would go for this?
Boston, Boston, Boston – it's all I think about, too! We're quite the pair! Hahaha!

Oh my, gotta love those crazy dreams, hope they stay away during your taper!

I clogged up the vaccuum with Easter grass, that stuff drives me nuts.

  22. Tricia says

I skipped the Easter grass this year and guess what? The kids didn't even notice. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love that "digital race" dream! Last year before Boston I was having one of those nightmares where you're running the race soooo slowly and can't figure out how to speed up. Finally I realized that it was because I was wearing a full length coat! And it was expensive so I couldn't just ditch it! Very happy to wake up.

I wish I could do a camp like that!

Have a fun time in FL!

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
