Three Things Thursday

April 8, 2010

Out of the Groove
Ever since I returned from spring break, I haven’t gotten back into my blogging ‘groove’. Not sure if it’s taper, nerves, whatever but I feel overwhelmed and distracted. The fact that Modern Caveman is off at the Masters and I’m single parenting–again–may have something to do with it. But anyway, welcome to all the new A-listers! I will make my way around if I haven’t already leave me a comment and give me a nudge.

Vicious Cycle
These past few weeks when I’ve done uber long runs on the weekend, then speedwork on Tuesday, I noticed  on Wednesdays I feel especially rundown. My sore throat seems gone one day but comes back the next, leading me to believe I’ve never fully recovered from last month’s bronchial sludge. I’m thinking of skipping today’s tempo run entirely to see if that helps. How’s that for radical?

Jet Setter That I Am…
I haven’t been on a girls’ weekend of any kind in over 2 years, but tomorrow I’m heading back to Florida, where a bunch of friends and I will be sharing a house for the weekend and…wait for it….foreign concept to lots of moms, I know…relaxing!!!

Does the fact that this junket is sandwiched between our spring break trip and the Beantown excursion qualify me for full jet-setting diva status? One can hope. I’ll miss the kids for sure but there’s something to be said for travelling sans Polly Pocket entourage, crayons, Webkinz and graham cracker crumbs. Actually I kinda dig graham crackers. But crawling around the floor of the plane collecting them, not so much.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

Have a great time! I don't enjoy scurring to pick-up dropped kiddie stuff on the plane, either. Especially when they still want to eat it…

Have fun! Nothing better than just packing up ONE bag and heading out with the girls. I think you do deserve jet-setter status. Hopefully a little down time will help you rest up and kick the germs out for good!

Sounds like fun to me. Eventhough I just had one myself I could use another girls trip. It was an eventful day yesterday in my house. Full of gross happenings.

You are a jet-setter and I think the timing is perfect. It will put your head in a nice, restful state!! Fun is good too! I think your idea to skip your mid week run is great, if you're fighting something the rest is good and if you're not…it doesn't matter right now anyway! Your work is done!
Take some pictures and enjoy the FUN!

You may have snow, but it's 30 degrees warmer than normal here. We're sitting at 86 degrees right now! So wrong for the beginning of April. Have a BLAST on your girls weekend.

Have an AWESOME time this weekend! We moms need the time away – I hope you enjoy every second of it!

marciashealthyslice I'm a working mom who, as part of a mid-life challenge, decided to run a marathon for kicks. I didn't plan on it becoming a hobby, but it did. I qualified for Boston at my second marathon and finished the 6 World Marathon Majors in London in 2019. Set no small goals. You never know what you're capable of until you try!
