May Wrap Up

June 1, 2010

Can it be June already? School’s out as of tomorrow! Summer is flying by and it isn’t even officially here!
Here’s how May shook out:

Miles run: 108
While by no means a high mileage month, I was recovering from Boston afterall (yes it takes that long for this peri-geriatric). I did some of my fastest and most intense training of the year so far.

Rest Days: Oh 1, maybe 2 per week as usual

Color: I am all about purple, the official color for The Lupus Foundation.

Guilty Pleasure: I’m pretty much off the almonds but don’t worry I’m still indulging when I can. Behold this delectable tidbit: A Ritz cracker touched with almond butter then sprinkled with semi-sweet mini chips. Crunchy, salty, sweet, creamy, it’s my everything.

Drink: Kombucha baby! This stuff is a magic elixir. If you haven’t tried it, you need to.

Book: Finally finished The Winner’s Brain by Jeff Brown and Mark Fenske

Triumph: Reclaimed a smidge of speed and captured AG 1st at my 5k a couple of weeks ago.

Bane: A tie between the heat and mosquitoes

What else? This is ice show rush week when the frequency and duration of rehearsals reach their peak and culminate this weekend in a glittery, glamorous extravaganza. Holy double salchow, Sunday cannot come soon enough for this skating sherpa mom!

Wow–your schools get out early compared to us. We go until 6/23 this year, thanks to loads of snow days!

Never heard of Kombucha…will have to check it out. Good luck with the skating!

Definitely wanna pick up a copy of The Winners Brain; I've heard good things about that book!

YUM, your tasty snack looks divine!! I've been following my carb/protein/fat ratios on fitday and I'm not sure where that would fit but it seems it's a good combo of all things needed! Great miles for May, girl!! I still need to total mine up, I was busy running last night and never got to it (hahaha…ya know my FB comment and all ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). I can't believe summer's almost here and next week I am out of school, like your wee-ones. You know what that means…just a couple months 'til AUGUST!!! ๐Ÿ™‚
