Tuesday Tids: Cranky Hot Edition

July 3, 2012

  • Just one week into marathon training and I’m craving salt. Our ridiculous temps may have something to do with that.
  • The buy 1 get 1 Frappuccino sale at Target Starbucks could not end soon enough. Many of you are doing the RW run streak. I just completed the Starbuck’s Frappuccino streak and have the gut to prove it. Is there a blog badge for that?
  • I’ve really had it with close checkouters at the grocery store. Why, why why must you almost spoon with me, nudge me with your cart, breathe down my neck?
  • Are these the same people who, when there are 87 open parking spots choose the one next to me? And park too close so that their door hits my car as they fumble with kids/stuff in the back seat? Truly am I the only person on this planet who avoids getting too close to other cars in parking lots??
  • Only buy your kids electric blue Icees and allow them to be drunk in the car if you want rivers of sugary gunk running down the seat cracks.
  • Am I just paranoid or is there a cloud of hungry mosquitoes lurking under the table where I blog just waiting to feast on my legs?

Ok just to prove that I am not a total B, some not so cranky things:

  • I take back every mean word I ever said about my mill. 800’s on the mill = total badassery. Here’s my sweaty, almost dead pic of the day. Still better than frying outside.
  • I am so digging this Nike tank. (Pardon the dishrag appearance. See badassery bullet above). Every other line is see through so it’s extra cool yet creates an illusion that hides my Frappuccino/cupcake tire.
  • Speaking of badassery, Dara Torres is the poster woman. London Olympic team or not.

What on tap for the 4th of July?

Final days to enter my ZipFizz giveaway!

I’m avoiding the heat by running at the crack of dawn (this works here because of the lack of humidity) or on the treadmill. I kind of want to do 20 minutes in the heat just so I can post some pictures like yours….but then again…nah. :^)

July 4th? Two picnics! No fireworks allowed out here in fire-prone CO, though. OK by me–it means all the rednecks who set them off in the middle of the night will have to find some other fun.

I think the crazy comes out of people when they go to the grocery store. I saw a woman flip out at a 5 year old (not hers) when the kid accidentally knocked over one of the things on the checkout belt. It was awful to watch.

    That tank is sweet!

I love your cranky edition! That’s so much how I’ve felt. I’m beating the heat by doing nothing…hence the crabbiness. On the 4th we’re going on a float trip. Should be fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

I ran wicked early this morning. I hate complaining about the heat as I hate winter…but it is hot here!
    Love the tank!
I go to the self serve grocery check out lines whenever I can.

Yep, my treadmill, my friend lately. Still stupid hot here in CO and no afternoon thunderstorms to facilitate an evening run. I’ve run more than my fair share in 90+ temps – sorry nature, my basement is looking pretty good these days!
Evil, evil frappuccinos – two for one at Target, you say??

I ran on the treadmill saturday and monday. Tomorrow I hope to get out early enough to do some street running. I hope!

The parking next to me even though I’ve parked well beyond anyone else and there are limitless spots to choose one will baffle me until I die.

I’m running a 5K tomorrow. Not too excited about it, but we’ll see if I wake up and feel differently.

I crave salt all the time, almost as much as I craved sweets, but I think spinning has something to do with that.

I love TM repeats. Way to rock it out!

I was just thinking the same thing about the heat and my salt cravings! Didn’t know about Target’s frap deal, I guess it’s all for the better. ๐Ÿ™‚ Relaxing today, bbq with friends tonight. Enjoy the holiday!

You know what is even worse than the too close parkers? The people who take the stall next to you in the bathroom even though every other stall is open. I HATE that.
